I'm really liking the cheaper simpler one. Thank you for showing me this. I wonder if it will work with the contour fans....

    Paul's 69 Mach1

Time for an update, panels lined and gaps Rechecked, mounted bonnet scoop, rear balance panel gapped and fitted, exhaust finished , just have tips to do, finally it’s at the paint shop, first time it’s been out of the garage in 11 years, had a bit of separation anxiety 8-) IMG_5151.MOV IMG_5137.MOV

    Removing knobs from 69 clock

I've messed with a bunch of clocks over the years, many I've put quartz movements in and a couple I've got going again with the stock movements. Only had 1 or two that I could not get the knob to come off and gave up as I was concerned that I'd break the stem before it would actually unscrew. One of the stubborn ones was a '69-70 Mach 1 clock. The knob on O.E. '69-70 Mach 1 clocks is metal, not "plastic" so, there is a chance the shaft could snap off. Doug

    Removing knobs from 69 clock

Contrary to that thread link, the knobs just unscrew. Pull the shaft out to full extension, grip the shaft and unscrew the knob. Since you can buy new knobs, if the removal is really tough you can just grip the shaft with something and gorilla the plastic knob if necessary to unscrew it. Then use a new knob when you reassemble.

Anti-theft for these old classic cars?

Bah. I simply remove the gas tank and carry it with me when I go into the store. If someone wants to use a wrecker to haul the car off, nothing can stop that (with the exception of a metal device that spits out metal or a trunk monkey).

Just put a manual transmission in it. Most today won't be able to drive it.

New oil pressure sender and now I don't think the engine is about to blow. Yippee So, finally got car on the road Saturday morning. Cars and Coffee in nearby Oviedo, Florida. Good crowd, lots of pent up demand. Any day you can drive your Mustang is a good day.

Okay I am looking for honest feedback here..... The chrome on my taillight bezels is cracked and pitted. Can't find nice originals for a decent price and repros are about $70 a piece, so I decided to do something with the crappy ones I have. Having them re-chromed is out, and chrome paint looks, well like paint and not chrome. I kind of like the Boss all black look, but I am not building a boss. Trying to stay close to a Mach I look with the wide rocker moldings and the black honey comb tail panel. So I decade to try painting them black (Boss like), but then bring in the body color to ascent the three light portals and break up the all black look. So here is the result... You won't hurt my feelings if you don't like them or think they look cheap. Honest opinions are what I am after....
