Midlife got a reaction from Max Power in Is it necessary to reinforce shock towers
Yes...there's this nice little bar in Monaco: Bar Du Quai. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Quai+des+Artistes/@43.7325299,7.4237902,15z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xc048f0c57c7f0282!8m2!3d43.7325299!4d7.4237902

Midlife got a reaction from larryc94 in Battery Solenoid Positive Side Issue
There is no fusible link or a resistor wire on the main power feed for 1969; it was somewhere mid-year of the 1970 production that a fusible link was added. There were fusible links for unusual systems, such as power windows, rear defogger, etc., but I have not run across them in 1969. A current draw of 9 to 10 milliamps is quite acceptable, usually traced to a clock or a radio memory device. That level of draw you see should not draw the battery down 25% unless your battery is on its last legs.
The only resistor wires in a 69 are for the alternator lamp and for the CVR input feed, neither of which should be active with the key in the OFF position. I'd love to see a picture of the two resistor wires you claim are near the starter solenoid.

There's no time like the present. Sounds like you want to do it but just need a little reinforcement :)

Midlife reacted to RPM in Can't Get Auto Meter Tach to Work
Just received in the mail from my new bff Midlife, a bullet terminal to connect the gauge cluster to the main harness. Tach still works properly. Go figure. Nice pic, I know.
I did develope a crazy oil pressure gauge which reads normal one time then pegs the needle the next time. A quick search says it's a grounding issue. Does this sound right? Thanks again for all y'all's help.

By the way, you deserve the Dope Slap I've discussed before for reversing the coil leads to the distributor. *G*

Can you cut the pins off and use emblem glue? That would save you from drilling that new paint.

Midlife got a reaction from rm69 in Machine shop in Florida
Wiggins machine shop has the best reputation in town, but I don't know how much experience they have with FE's.
I'm also from Panama City (actually Lynn Haven) and work on Navy helicopters. Small world, eh?

Midlife got a reaction from RPM in Which parts supplier should I go with??
I prefer NPD for their 24/7 toll-free lines and superb customer service; everything is in stock.. Right behind them is one company not mentioned: VA Classic Mustangs. Again, superb customer service, reasonable prices, almost always in stock. Only drawback is a non-toll-free phone line and Sundays off. For shelby specific stuff, Cobranda.com is good. These are about the only three companies I consistently deal with.
