If you want to contribute then I suggest you post some info that is pertinent and potentially useful to the op's question. If you simply want to be condescending, sarcastic, and attempt to berate someone like you are feebly attempting to do to me, I suggest you double up on your meds or go berate your dog or your cat to relieve whatever you have that needs relieving, because comments like some of the ones you made here not helping anyone.

Wow, so your low oil pressure was from the wrong pick up tube. I too have made the mistake of trusting folks to send the correct parts. With my Milodon 7-1/2 qt pan, I checked the distance from the bottom of the pick up tube to the pan with play doh.  I now trust, but verify.

Hey everyone! My name is Peter Sessler. I am a recent owner of a 1969 Mustang Fastback. I got the car on ebay in January and it has TONS of issues! But that's OK! I looked for one for about 9 months before I found one i could afford. I am going to have to tear everything apart anyway. A little backround on me..... Ive been a part of car forums for almost 20 years. My dad is an automotive writer. He has written over 90 books on cars. He had two 1969 Boss 429 Mustangs a 70 Mach 1 and also a 67 GT350 Convertible growing up. My dad has been on his "last legs" for the better part of a decade so this car is going to be our final project together.
My plan is to build this car into a Boss 429 clone. From the outside it will appear as a stock Boss 429- but will have modern running gear. Interior will be as stock looking as possible as well. Using a 460 block and a pair of Jon Kasse heads. Stroke the motor to 600 cubes and have stack injection. I have been collecting parts for the project and also enjoying the car for what it is. I really refer to it as my gray turd. Car needs a new floor pan- cowl dumps water onto your feet, a bunch of patch work on the rear quarters among a lot of other areas. Basically the previous owner rattle canned the car and threw it together to sell it. Saying it was poorly  "thrown together' is an understatement. Since I got the car I have completely re-wired it with a AAW harness. The car had almost ZERO wires in it. The dash was full of sand and dirt. I rebuilt the C4 myself which was a great experience. I have since acquired a 9" rear and a TR6060 that I plan on using- the 460 is on the stand- and I have the Boss 429 hood scoop. Within a couple of months I am going to buy the Mustangs to Fear long subframe with their IFS, a watts 4 link rear and big brakes. The car has non power drum brakes, but it does have power steering and factory A/C (that isn't there). Its a pretty basic car. I am going to do as much work myself as I can. I have never done body work before so that will be a new challenge. I am able to weld and do some light metal fab. I am a member of Vintage Mustang forums and also the Mustang Club of America. My wife has a 2005 Mustang GT in legend Lime with a 5-speed, long tube headers- and she absolutely loves the car. I have a 2013 Dodge Viper at 600whp so I am accustomed to a car having power, handling, and being able to stop. That's what I want my Boss 429 clone to be like. There is no reason it cant.
Anyway, here are some pics of my gray turd!
    Before it was thrown together:

    As it sits now:

    C4 rebuild:

    Rewire:

Car hasn't had lights in who knows how many decades. I really like wiring. It is astonishing me how it DESTROYS time!

The frame has massive rust holes and the floor pan is literally cut up and screwed together. I am surprised that I don't fall through the floor.

It does start right up and that's something though. I recently installed a 1 wire alternator and an electronic ignition.  Everything leaks and the front wheel bearings are scary sounding but its still so nostalgic driving the car. Looking forward to reading your posts and contributing where i can! I have a ton more pics on my build thread on VMF, but i somehow found my way here so I figured id join a club dedicated to the most beautiful Mustang ever made.

We hide the retractor in the qtr panel. We have plates made that we just weld in . The 69-70 qtr trim is a little tough,  this is why I said we will probably  go with a retractable  4 point using our roll bar.

I would have to assume most members don't know that is even possible...   I am pretty much computer savvy, in fact I have been writing code for over 20 years. But I have never been Website or Domain owning savvy...   In my job, I use the internet several hours a day for research, but I have never had any interest in owning a website and/or domain because my employer took care of that end of our needs...   If I didn't know, even in my capacity as an engineer and researcher, I have to believe not too many other people would know this information.  But since I am an information "Sponge", I truly do appreciate this info!!!   Thanks  Midlife!!!

The POS units is Corvex Mouldnings that I got from CJ Pony Parts. Let's just say I buy all my Mustang stuff from NPD now. I ended up getting NOS moldings from ebay. They have some shelf wear, but they fit perfect! A thorough polish will make them like new.

Thanks latoracing and Ridge Runner- I'm relieved that my old girl is not sagging and was designed that way. It does complicate the inner rocker design though. Among other things, I worked with sheet metal design for 46 years and intend to make custom inner rockers for my fastback that won't require cutting the floor at the outer rocker, and will be much more stout than the replacements currently on the market. Should be fun.

I don't have a problem with MTF when they respond with something that they sell that they can help with the problem of the original poster.  I think most people here know that MTF is also a vendor and what they have to offer must be taken with the appropriate care one would take with any vendor.  If they offered items that were entirely inappropriate or irrelevant to the thread, then I would have a problem as well.  My casual interpretation/reading of their posts is that they are trying to offer help with the obvious bias of supporting things that they know work and provide in their high-end products.  I don't think that this is too awful to make a stink about.  The phrase is "caveat emptor".
I hope that my advice that I present to this forum is not construed as well as hyping my products or services, although that is an ulterior motive for joining.  I try not to shill my services unnecessarily and only when it is appropriate.  I believe MTF is doing the same.
    Just my humble opinion.

I re-read 1969_Mach1's post a few times, and while he did refer to the Inverted Flank camshaft lobe, (that's what we used to call them), I seen absolutely NO instance where he inferred that Inverted Radius cams would be the "best one for all builds etc."   He only stated that he had read interesting tech articles and they might be worth reading for someone who wanted further information...
In order to have "Shamelessly Plagiarized" from whatever source, his written text would have to be Verbatim to the source you specified, which it most certainly is not....
Many, in fact, Most people are not familiar with the YellowBullet.com website as it is tailored to a pretty specific audience. The two predominant groups that are drawn to YellowBullet are either Drag Racers, as it has a lot of different sections for various classes and venues.  The other group would be the "Pissers and Moaners", as it's first listed forum is "Trash or Be Trashed, where the Weak are Killed and Eaten"...   There are also quite a few political dissidents who regularly air their grievances...
There  is a LOT of information available on YellowBullet, but nearly nothing I would consider Gospel...   and yes as a Long Time Drag Racer, I have been a member on YellowBullet for many years!  But as with MOST forums, the information presented is typically Opinions Only and should be regarded as such.
As to the rest of your "Dissertation" on inverted radius roller cams, the vast majority of your rant is totally unnecessary to the typical classic car and muscle car hobbyist that frequent this forum.   I do understand much of your information since we ran a few different Inverted Flank roller cams which were all custom grinds specified by our engine builder, Ex NHRA Pro Stock racer and engine builder Sam Gianino back in the early 1990's. They were not nearly as aggressive as they could have been at that time, since the primary objective of the inverted flank lobe at that time was to increase the acceleration and velocity of the valve event to allow more "Area Under the Curve" for increased air flow.   Since we were not Billionaires we requested a slightly milder profile to save money due to valve spring attrition.   Again, this was before the advent and more widespread use of the SpinTron device which ultimately demonstrated the damage created by such camshaft profiles at high lift and RPM.
As you constantly speak down with a condescending tone to anyone with an alternative opinion to your own, please try to remember that MOST members simply cannot  comprehend the engineering aspects of most active components within an Internal Combustion Engine, and instead of your diatribes being informative in a useful manner they typically come across as self serving babble with the sole purpose of stroking your own ego...
As many wise men have said, think before speaking.

I have to wonder which transmission that was from.   When I worked for Watson Engineering, we did a lot of work with the Ford Engineering teams. We did a LOT of work on NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) issues.   Ford sent many different engineers to our facility, and in most cases their "Fix" was to hang different weight attachments to the component causing the vibration...   The really didn't care to Correct the Cause of the vibration, but rather to Dampen the vibration by adding additional weight to the vibrating component, which reduces the vibration to a lower frequency which would hopefully be less noticable...   I'll likely get in a lot of trouble for disclosing this information, but what the hell, I'm retired and I had no pension from Watson, so really, what could they do???

Just a quick chime in, a user from another mustang forum turned me onto this thread and I signed up on this forum specifically to contact Doug to purchase a filler neck.  I put a 22 gallon tank out of a '70 into my '67 coupe.  I bought the conversion neck with the insert already installed and basically ready to simply install.  Night and day better!!!  The neck slid right into place at both ends and installed just as expected.  I've been to the pump twice already since receiving it on Sat afternoon and both times, I put the nozzle in, locked it in at full throttle and stood back hoping for the best and both times it clicked off as it would on any modern vehicle without a drop of gas spilled!  Just to check I pulled the trigger both times and it put maybe another 1/4 gallon and then clicked back off.  Definitely full!  Just wanted to chime in that I had zero issues purchasing from Doug and the neck seems to have solved my typical puddle under the back of my Mustang while filling at the pump issue!

    Thanks,
    Khris
