  1. Thanks for that. Mine is shitty red paint. I think it needs some black.
  2. I'm not clear on what is being dicussed here. Could someone post some photos. If it is what I think it is I need to do some painting. Thanks.
  3. I changed to a Lokar cable from Summit. With the kit I bought it had the transmision bracket but the carby bracket was not suitable. It was pretty easy to make one though.
  4. Looking forward to the finished product. Looking great.
  5. And all this time I thought you were in WA (Western Australia). Very sad news. We do get a few shootings over here but mostly bikers and organised crime. It's very rare for a domestic shooting and there are almost no accidental shootings. I am a gun owner and have to comply with some very strict rules. A firearms safety course first and safe storage and transportation rules. There is a zero tolerance policy with even a minor breach facing a gaol (jail) sentence. It takes away spur of the moment decisions. I can't remember the last shooting that involved a licenced gun owner. I was initially against our laws but now they have been in force for 20- odd years I am all for them. There are some silly parts to the laws but on the whole they work well.
  6. I was thinking a few of you old timers might go for Mrs Howell. I allways had a thing for Mary Anne but as time goes on I'm takig a shine to Ginger.
  7. This looks great. Can't wait to follow the restoration.

That's because it was designed for the northern hemisphere; in the southern hemisphere it will be upside down!

  9. Hey don't sweat it. I spent a lot of time trying to work ut why my new fuel sender wasn't reading full. After lots of trouble shooting it turned out it needed more fuel. Doe!
  10. I used mineral turpentine. I think you guys call it white spirit. Test to make sure it won't damage paint of trim. I have never had issues with it damaging these but better safe than sorry. If using thinner I would only try enemal thinner. Acrylic thinner will probably damage paint and trim.
  11. Changed my 7" rears to 8". The 245/60/15 tyres were a little bulgy. Happy with these now.
  12. Mate, when we catch up I need to compare your stripes to mine. I want to do some work on the doors and repaint them. It would be great if I could match the stripes without having to replace the lot.
  13. Looking good. Maybe drive it tor rego!
  14. No need to comment

      Thanks!  I love 'em!

  15. I sent a sample of the underbody deadener from the areas I was working to be tested for asbestos and just got the report back 'No asbestos detected' As the car has previously had the floor plans replaced this may explain it. A big relief for this part. Unfortunately I did a lot of cutting and grinding of the heater box thinking it was just fibreglass. When I next get access I will remove a piece and have it sampled.
  16. I Mark, I have the exact same problem. I am intending on elongating the holes a little. It's on my long to do list.
  17. Still trying for February????
  18. Thanks. I thought that might be too obvious. Will give it a go.
  19. Thanks Barnett. How did you thin the rubber?
  20. Makes you wonder about all grinding wheels. I would think most come from China where asbestos is still the norm.
  21. Very sad to here. Sorry mate. I wish I'd known about the heater box. I did substantial cutting and grinding when converting mine for the other side. If I recall corrctly I used a mask as I would with any fibreglass although I did not take the same precautions I would have if I new of the asbestos risk. Had I realiased I would haqve just replaced it with an aftermarket unit.
