I have one sort of drawn out ,probably change as i go . I made one wheel mount ,just needs to be welded together. I tried to get some 1 3/4 mild steel round tubing but looks like they had to order it ,should be here tomorrow sometime . I dont think it will take long to make ,but may be a bit to make both sides the same in the bender .

My trunk lid is OEM as is the spoiler, both original to the car. Unfortunately, my car is an early 69 build and does not have the oval cutout. I do have a bracket but it is not like that and does not protect the deck from what has transpired in the pictures above. If I recall correctly, the owner that bought the car new had the dealership install all the spoilers and window louvers. Anyway, bought an aftermarket lid tonight that has the correct cut out for that bracket. Keeping my fingers crossed that the aftermarket lid is a good one.

Do not cut the carpet at the door sills. Give it some time, and let it settle before you trim.

Best way to make the hole in a carpet is with a soldering iron. This makes a nice neat hole for the screws and seat belts. Find a soldering iron (not a gun) as this is a cleaner hole. As for carpet I have used ACC mass backed with good results. Measure well and leave a bit extra for trim, the fits are good.

Many people suggest using soldering irons.
This is NPDs kit. The screws with the cone shaped washers are for the bottom of the door panel where the carpet is. I'm not sure what the pop rivets are for- someone here will know.

ACC Auto Custom Carpet gets the highest marks, mass backed. The Essex cut pile is thick, dense and plush and the top of their line. When last I checked it was 46% cheaper at Rock Auto.

Ed, if the fender extensions are not painted yet, test fit and align the repro trims now so you do not mess up the paint later on while aligning/fitting the trim.

You may take a look at the headlight assembly as well.  Some or all of the parts could go on before installing the fender. Brian

    I mounted the fenders.
then I mounted the headlamp extensions . My dad help them and I bolted them on after they were assembled

the repo trim is crap, you need to have them off the car to even have a chance of getting them to line up

Next step here is to take the door, lock out, and somehow painted, or coat it back.
Actually have a set of door lock cylinders from late 1980s Mustang, that are black from the factory, I’m gonna try to install those. Not sure if they fit.

Will do. They have had my car since February and I know it turned into more work than they anticipated. They may not make anything on it with the way it has gone but they have paid attention to detail and I don’t mind it going slow as long as they are making progress.

Had to finish up a job that is going to be picked up in a couple of days, with that behind me, its tip time.
As I have had several days to think about how to build these, things went rather smoothly this afternoon. I needed to start off by trimming the inner 2.5" tube to the same radius of the 3" tube. They were stuck together and marked for trimming.

I used some 3/16" round rod for spacers that are taped to the inner tubing. After a little material removal the pins were taped back in place.

I didn't know if this next portion would work in one piece or not, but I had to try. Using the 3" tube as a bending guide I bent the 1/4" rod into a workable shape. A little tweak here and there along with a few trimmings the rod was welded together, Surprisingly  out of one continuous piece. Taping the parts together it looks like it might just work.

I need to do the final touch-ups on the ring and finish trim the inner tube. One down one to go...

TexasEd got a reaction from Mach1 Driver in Which pin for solenoid S terminal?
Be careful with that jumping the car from the solenoid.  That’s how I started my car in reverse when I thought it was in park and it backed into a tree.  Now it is getting a full body and paint overhaul.
