  1. Thanks RR, but with headers I won't be using the tube. Hmm, wouldn't the nut be captive? I wonder how it came off.
  2. I ended up making some Ron Morris adjustable motor mount knock offs based on Buening's pdf dawing. I solved my height problem, but caused another. The engine crossmember interfered with the oil pan and would't allow the engine to be lowered enough. So I made a different crossmember. An option would be to mill the carb pad on the intake. As they say in Vegas, good luck!
  3. Metallic silver is difficult to get right. You'll probably want to find out who the best painter in town is and use him. Sheesh, what's up with all these Mustangs getting hit? Enough already.
  4. Thanks Bob. I suppose I do have a few active brain cells. Guess I won't be using it with headers.
  5. Any ideas what this might be? My wag is that it slipped into the exhaust manifold then traveled upward. The o.d. is 1/4" and about 15" overall length. I looked thru some manuals and catalogs without luck. Thanks guys.
  6. Coming along nicely. Did you do a side by side comparison on the head studs and bolts? I wonder if the studs were for the correct alum heads. Seats in our cars are always so much "fun" to get right.
  7. If you used an aftermarket intake manifold it may have raised the carb. You may have to eliminate the carb spacer and use the vacuum ports on the carb.
  8. That's good to hear G! Hey, vent away, it's your thread! A crash with a regular car sucks, having a classic makes it unbearable sometimes. If you haven't settled completely on your damages, you should be be paid for loss of use of the car, but your lawyer should know this. Thanks for including the history of your car. And folks snicker at sentimental value.

Would you expect anything else from a chebby guy?
  10. Well that certainly is great news. The squeaky wheel theory works again!
  11. Hang in there G. What's the saying? That which does not kill us makes us... crazy!
  12. Best of luck Ridge Runner. Is this the first year the trees produced that they needed the bees? If not, where did they place the hives in prior years? Seems to me the orchard has plenty of perimeter to place the hives where regular folks don't get bothered. Hang in there RR.
  13. My body assembly book has this chart with three heights depending on suspension. There are a few books for the entire car and the info comes in pretty handy. That being said, the GT handling for E measurement seems to me to be wrong. Another thing that caught my eye is the + and - tolerance. NPD sells them.
  14. It's not the insurance company's to sell at auction unless the owner signed it over. An update would be cool.
  15. Oops, sorry about that. There should be plenty of room now.
  16. To answer your own question, put the shoe on the other foot. How much more would you pay for a grey or brown car if the seller said the color was one of 34 or 1,000?
  17. Declaring a car a total loss is someone's subjective opinion. You don't have to go thru their carrier, you can go thru yours. The last thing you want is to have a salvaged title on your car, it affects the value. If your car is valued at 45k, it can be repaired. Call me please, my second career was as an auto adjuster. 18. Every stripped Mustang I've seen has areas of brazing, including the tail light area.
  19. Which car, the orange one with side pipes? What am I missing here?
  20. I have a set of 17x8 and 18x8. I need a spacer for both sets to keep the upper back joint area from rubbing the she'll.
  21. Pin holes? I've never seen a pin that big :) I wish those hinge rebuild kits were available when I rebuilt my hinges. No experience with them, but I too have heard positive experiences about them.
  22. Brazing done right will hold anything you want. Many a race car frame has been brazed together.
  23. Damn Barnett, you're making me nervous, but I'm not gonna ask what all you know about lambs. Freshly shaved at that :)
  24. Here's a few pics, let us know if you need any others.
