I had someone over to install a new windshield in my convertible today, when he got it off the truck it was scratched, so it was a no go. They were going to charge me $300 installed. Now I'm thinking about just doing it myself. I already took the old one out, stripped the frame to bare metal and painted it with catalyzed paint. I have the dash out too. How tough of a job is it? CJ's has my windshield on sale for $150.

    Thanks,
    Matt

Pulled positive off battery while motor was running, engine died. That tells me it's not charging based on how I tested alternators back in the day. Had alternator tested--good, replaced voltage regulator, still dies.
Checked all wires on alt harness for condunuity- all good. Tach Mach, 4 wire alt, 4 wires going to voltage regulator.
    What's next?

Anybody had any luck with these from CJ's. I fought with one side for an hour plus and could not get it to fit correctly. Ended putting the originals one back in with their cracks and speaker hole cutouts.

Has anyone had any luck replacing your front seats to something more comfortable than the original 1969 ones? If so, I'd love some ideas on which used cars to start looking at do do the swap.  Preferably without too much work.
All the best to the Mustang fans out there!!!

Bought my first Mustang when I was 17 for $200.  The car was a ’69 hardtop that had been re-painted (badly) neon green with a dark green hood.  Being honest the car was a “beater†but it ran good and with a 302 and  3 speed manual it was fun to drive and always got me where I needed to go (and back). Always liked that car and still have fond memories of it to this day.  Didn’t buy another Mustang for more than 20 years when I bought an ’88 LX with a 5.0 and a 5 speed to use as a donor car on my Factory 5 Cobra build.  Easing into semi-retirement now after a lifetime of Camaros and Corvettes and looking for a ’69 or ’70 Mustang fastback to add to my current stable and give me something new to work on and keep me busy.

A little back history. Three to four years ago I saw a local Craigslist ad for a 9 inch carrier with 3.50 ratio, N case Daytona pinion support bearing, traction lok. I drive over to his place 4-5 miles away and right away see he has a 69 Mustang in his garage. We talk shop, we make the deal and I'm gone.

Bear with me, it'll make sense. About a year and a half ago I call a guy regarding a 351W block for sale. Call him up and sounds familiar, get directions to his place and damned if it isn't the same guy I bought the 9 inch from.

So the other day I'm checking around this site zapping the spammers when I see new member lalojamesliz post that he's from Bakersfield. WTFresno? Bakersfield? Me too. I reply to his thread and ask him to call me. The phone rings this afternoon and my caller ID has a guy's name and Ford Parts included in the name line. WTH? I answer the phone and lalojamesliz introduces himself and says he's from this site. I'm thinking and asking lalo why I have his number in my phone, have we meet before? It was truly a Twilight Zone moment. Right then it hit us both. Yep, same dude. Same guy I bought the 9 inch from. You'd think at some point I'd remember him.

Anyway, he's now a member here so chances are I'm remember him. The good part is that he's a good guy. When I first met him he was fair, knowledgeable and easy to deal with buying parts, and I'm pleased he's joined us here.

I just  got the Manual to Power Brake conversion from Mustang Steve. It was the Master Cylinder, Booster and Automatic Pedal plus all the fittings, nice set!

Before I go at it, I want to make sure of one thing. On his instructions he said to use a 1/2 Drill when drilling the holes on the fire wall.
The Booster studs are 3/8's. Is he saying to use a 1/2" drill or use a 1/2 bit???

I have a set of Procar Rally Seats yesterday I went to get something out of the back seat when I went to put the seat upright it just went right back to the tilt down position the handle works fine it just won't latch the seat in any position. I was just dropping the car off to have a new heater core installed at Cascade Classic Mustangs & Cougars really would like to fix it before bringing it home Tuesday.

I have looked all over the web for any info on what type of mechanism it is mechanical gear or cable, can't find anything on Procar reclining seats.

Anyone have Procar tilt seats that could take a look at the mechanism or know anything about the tilt system used.

When bored at work (which rarely happens), I look at eBay to see what's out there.  Today, I searched Mustang underdash harnesses, which usually has way overpriced used stuff where folks claim it was refurbished.  Looking closely at the pictures, it usually indicates broken wires and such, all for $600+.  Outrageous!

Today, a 69 with AC with listed for $49.99, BIN.  The pictures showed it was easily refurbishable with minor damage, well within my desires for really good cores.  Two people were watching this listing.  Screw them: I snapped it up as my standard core charge is $50.

As you know, the 69 and 70's are my biggest sellers (see http://1969stang.com/forum/index.php/topic/55726-reaching-a-milestone/
and I'm always short of good cores.  Finding something on eBay listed at normal core charges and a good $250 less than anything else was a surprise.

He browses, he clicks, he scores!!!!
