    Barnett and MaxPower
I appreciate discussions from both of you.  This is all valuable interesting facts that someone like me needs to consider for my own difficulties.  Everyone needs to consider the comments of others with a lot of leeway; they certainly do with me.   I have made my share of misunderstood comments here.
MaxPower, consider any comments as they are appropriate to you.  I realized the overbore by 0.060 is not a part of the issue, and what is done is done. We work with it and move on.  The issue is solving your heat issue with what you have. That is the challenge we all want because (like me) your solution can help us.
I have several fans from U-pull over the years of collection. If you want to try one, or measure what I have, I can stop by.

I think we should set up a network of us that are willing to inspect and even take possession of cars for other members.
i have been doing this for a number of years now for a select groups of people.
for those of us that are knowledgeble on these cars, we can inspect them for those that are out of the area.

i have also taken possession of some of these cars and stored them for a limited time till transport can me arranged.
this for me is not a free service but would come at a reasonable cost

    Cheers guys.
Earlier in the week I tig welded some plumbing fittings to pressure test the evaporator core.

    No joy...two slow air leaks

I had to go to out of town to collect some new A/C parts for my Amarok and while there I discussed some options. There were a few that are similar but it'll come down to a cost comparison to whether redoing the original is cost effective to the Vintage Air options which is roughly $1100 Australian delivered.
I was told to soak the timing cover in the waterborne wax and grease remover to treat the cast alloy for paint prep. I couldn't figure out a way to do this without wasting a lot of the fluid. I've only got the one container and getting more is not a quick option. So I got a spray bottle and sprayed it over and over for a couple of days.

It's not a perfectly smooth finish as the surface was not smooth with it being cast, but I think it's fitting with the cast block. It's my first attempt at spraying the epoxy, I've only brushed it on up to this point. We've had some beautiful days weather so it was good time to get it done. Am pretty happy with the result.

I was just brought another fine example of what not to do ,another shop getting ahead of its self without thinking it through.this is a 1929 modle A .They cant get the doors to gap correctly ,the problem is they already welded in the floor without trying to fit the doors first. The shop doesnt have a clue how to fix it .well what they did was spread the body at the bottom  causing a very wide gap at the bottom and a good gap at the top.
The only way to fix it is to cut a floor panel out and draw the two ends of the body together to close the gap at the bottom ,and of course it all has to be leveled up first. ALWAYS FIT ALL THE SHEET METAL and level it before welding something up or this is what you will wind up with

The cobrajet script badges have adhesive backing. You will most likely just have to glue them back on.
Speaking of which....any measurements for correct placement? I assure there is one measurement needed from the front of the scoop.

The top of the fins are not painted. After painting I cleaned the tops off with some solvent and there was no need to polish.

" The ribs on a shaker scoop are painted argent. Some folks paint the shaker semi-gloss black then sand the ribs clean, but that's not accepted by MCA judging if that's a concern. "

I've done a fare bit of sheet metal cutting in the last few months and found an air powered nibler invaluable. Two things. Buy a good one and you need a decent compressor that won't run out of puff every 10 seconds. This was a good excuse to buy a new compressor as well. Sometimes I need to justify my spending and an excel spreadsheet won't always work.

Time well spent on the engine, it looks very tidy. I love those rocker covers too, I once had a similar set on a 351C that had "CLEVELAND" embossed in the top.

Mal, the engine looks really neat and clean. I have slowed down a bit also and cold does me no favors.

Looking good, you sure do work fast, I've been doing mine for 7 years and I'm still not finished!!. By the way you will probably have to drop the rack down a couple of inches if you want to install the engine and trans in one unit, the bellhousing will catch on the rack.

Looking more and more like a car again, Mal. Your goal is becoming very close to completion.
Just to let you know, flashing red tail lights are fine. Mine are and I have full NSW rego. If I were driving in Sydney like yourself though, I would change them too. To many people on those roads with no common sense.
