Alan_Mac reacted to Kris in Console - modifications for auto to manual
I think you have to change the top shift plate of the console. It just unbolts.

Alan_Mac reacted to danno in 1969 tach dash available
Yes, they have gone up and will probably continue. When I see Mach 1's selling for the $50,000 to $100,000 range, it does not surprise me. How can you have a Mach without a tach? It should have been standard equipment on them.

No that is just the Antifa clowns tossing their roaches out the window on their way to Portland.

No body said the cause of these fires was only due to Global warming, but that it is contributing factor.

Alan_Mac got a reaction from Msflanag in Question on ford 5spd or new tremic
I installed a TKO 500 in my 70 with a highly modified 418W . There is very little trimming to the gear shift hole edge and removal of the small bracket on the bottom around the hole. Since you don't have a high HP engine the T5 would be my choice.

I have 1 PCV, the other valve cover is plumbed to the air cleaner housing

You would need both for the system to work correctly.
A filtered air supply from your air cleaner to one valve cover OR a breather fitted to that cover.
On the other valve cover you would need to hook up a PCV with vacuum supplied by either a intake manifold fitting OR a vacuum supply from your carb or carb spacer.

I would use a PCV. I use this adjustable PCV on my 418W and it works great. http://mewagner.com/?p=444

Alan_Mac reacted to Kris in 69 Convertible build
Been a while since I posted an update but over the last couple of weeks I finished the brake system and now have fully functional brakes. I also installed the under dash portion of my vintage air AC system. This last weekend I installed my lower dash and the wiring harness, along with the steering column and steering wheel.

And the Hail Mary is ... completed! Mike's had them. They'll be in the mail as soon as my money order gets there.
Thanks again for the help. I was just about to try to make my own.

What happened to yours? I don't think they are reproduced. Try to locate a set thru a used mustang parts dealer.

Alan_Mac got a reaction from spogshd in Need help choosing disc brakes with no booster
I have manual brakes with 17" rims. They are Front Baer 13" Pro + 6 piston and rear Baer 13" SS4+ with the integrated drum parking brake . They are great quality and work really well. Excellent parking brake.

Alan_Mac got a reaction from Mach1 Driver in Long Headers for 69 with 351W
I have FPA 1.750 long tube headers on My 351W mach1 with AFR heads, TCP R&P steering and TKO50). They fit perfectly. I really like the ball and socket design on the collectors. I had Hooker Super Comp headers back when I had stock steering and FMX. They (hooker SC) fit OK but need some collector alignment adjustment with a 2x4 to fit with the FMX.

Alan_Mac reacted to 69Stanger408 in Fitech vs Sniper vs ?
I went with the Holley Sniper with Holley EFI fuel tank and the Holley Dual-Sync Distributor, all is controlled via the integrated ECU and touch screen. I have it connected to a performance built 4R70W AOD trans, which sync's to the ECU as well as the trans ECU (adjustable shift points). Engine is a 408 Stroker Windsor.

Alan_Mac got a reaction from RPM in PCV Valve Plumbing Questions
It would also help if the drivers side breather was connected to the air cleaner base. I use and adjustable PCV and it fixed my problem.

Alan_Mac got a reaction from RPM in 69/70 heater hoses w/o AC. which one is in and which one is out?
The heater hoses route better when reversed. The heater core flow will be the same if the fluid moves from from top to bottom or bottom to top.
