  1. How do your firewall extensions/toeboards look? When I replaced my toeboards and torque boxes, it appeared no paint was ever applied to the "hidden" surfaces of each, which caused them to rust away. The condition of the toeboard is going to determine how you tackle this issue and which torque boxes to buy.
  2. I would guess he likes the appearance? The car has everything else the wing and rear window slats too. Probably just likes the looks....not worried as much about function.
  3. I picked mine up at the Columbus swap meet a few years ago. One thing I noticed is that mine was a very nice stamping with no unintended wrinkles like others I have seen. No idea what name was on it.
  4. That car is sweet... love the scoop. I like the black mirrors, too.
  5. I have sold the power steering items in the past. If the control arms are in good condition, I have seen people searching for them. They can be rebuilt or converted to roller bearings.
  6. Notice the 69-73 sportroof have quarter windows....unlike the 65-68 fastback. I vaguely recall someone saying that is where the difference is, but it's probably just Ford trying to keep the car fresh by using new words. We humans get tired of the same old thing rather quickly.
  7. Pretty sure there are two different factory steering box ratios.
  8. I'll give you $10, you pay shipping.

  10. Someone was creating a keyed lock years ago.... search the VMF and you might find what I'm referring to. I think it simply prevent the latch mechanism from moving.
  11. At first glance, it looks like a 71-73 seat. 69 highback seats have the release lever located half way up the side. In 70, the release lever moved to the bottom of the seat back.
  12. I opted for the more expensive black one from NPD, I think. I have no complaints. In a recent discussion regarding monte carlo bars, I have learned NPD sent me one intended for 67-68 Mustangs. It won't fit my car unless I modify it.
  13. I think it's more like a closed cell foam strip... probably to keep water from seeping into the car.
  14. It shouldn't have any play in it. It needs replaced or repaired. You'll never get the door properly fitted if they aren't tight.
  15. Awesome! That's the hood scoop I plan to put on my car.
  16. Brought my car home today. I started the restoration a little over two years ago at a friend's house. Bought my own house since then and finally got all the major work completed so I could move it to my own garage.
  17. Years ago my buddy had a 69 coupe with a special paint code. Forgive my lack of memory, but I seem to recall the paint code being 6 digits or maybe the the order district? I can't remember for sure, but, my biggest point is that Marti did not know what the color was. I sent him a door hinge bolt with the paint color on it. It wasn't the best sample, but it was the best I could find on what was left of the car. Turned out the car was 1 of 100 ordered by a dealer or something in Cincinnati painted a T-bird yellow color.
  18. Think those are wheel chocks for a Chevy. Seems like I had those in a 95 S10 I owned long ago. Yep: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHEVROLET-BLAZER-GMC-ENVOY-OLDSMOBILE-BRAVADA-JACK-AND-SPARE-WHEEL-TOOLS-/360520467431?pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&vxp=mtr&hash=item53f0b1c3e7
  19. I put mine in through the windshield opening. I don't see any mention of seat risers in the FLP10 floor. There is a big difference between coupe and fastback risers, make sure you specify.
  20. Are you saying you think this is the case for GT's? Front drums were standard on the Mach 1. I think the M-code GT my buddy has came with discs. My M-code Mach came with drums.
  21. I also imagine it would be easier. I couldn't find anyone that has tried it before welding when I asked, though. I'm most likely going to try it before welding when I do mine.
  22. I ground off the front edge/corner when I removed my quarters. Can someone else confirm these measurements?
  23. Oh, I thought you only had the inner part... Let me see what I can do. I have my old quarters still. My car is at my buddy's house in another town and I don't know when I'll be over there again.
