  1. So 69 coupe and I'm replacing the hinge pins and bushings. The upper bracket set fits good but the lower bushing on the lower bracket doesn't fit tight and has about 1/16 of play in it. The hole doesn't look worn really so is it supposed to be like that or am I replacing the whole hinge?
  2. Sorry to get yall pumped about trannys I think theyre on the other 69 site
  3. Im a noob with a 69 coupe 351c the dipstick was broken when I got it is there a way to remove the tube and pull out the broken piece (if its actually in there) or will I have to drop the transmission? Suggestions?
  4. The selector wobbles side to side slightly I took off the cover and tried tightening the nut but it looks like its tight as it can get. The play appears to be where it exits the housing and heads to connect to the tranny.
  5. Ok well around the tranny and between all the seats is still pretty good and im not as good with welding and framework as i would like so would you recommend just doing the floors rather than undertaking the whole job? Or should i suck it up and pay someone to do the whole floor?
  6. i like the idea of throwing in a whole new floor like that. Ive heard to only do one at a time though for structural reasons how did you go around that or am i misinformed? And did you just cut out the damage and lay it over top or cut out the whole floor and weld that in?
  7. So believe it or not the floor panels all around are pretty much showing daylight, convenient for a Flintstones style e-brake but not much else. Should i cut out the whole sections and buy the replacement sections and weld them in or try treating it with the rust converter and going over the top with new sheet metal or something?
  8. Good news I pulled out the starter and found the block id number D2AE-CA 2A22 which according to some quick research is a 351 cleveland. Thanks for the help guys youll hear from me again!
  9. Very nice got any ideas how to confirm it or is that a pretty solid indication?
  10. Ok on the back of the intake it says "WEIND 7517" distributor says "motorcraft D2ZF 12127 GC 2F14" the motorcraft and 12127 were raised writing the rest was recessed stamp. Sorry no pics cant load them
  11. yea i feel stupid now i suppose "FO" means firing order. So its down to a 351 c/m 0r a 400 when i get home ill look for some more numbers see what i can find out.
  12. Well according to the vin it should be a 351 2v and there are 8 bolts on the valve cover and the number on top of the intake is F013726548 also had a holley 4160 carb on it. Anybody shed some light?
  13. Iv read that theres supposed to be a tag or something near the distributor but havent found anything yet. could be hidden by some grease and gunk yet but got any insight as to where i should focus?
  14. I recently got a 69 stang from my brother and we think its gotten a engine replacement somewhere in its life. Im not as familiar with engines as i would like to be and im trying to figure out what it is anybody know where an ID tag or P/N might be?
