CedAbedaPep reacted to prayers1 in Need sending unit measurement
If someone can get me the measurement of the sending units float arm fully extended, that would be great.
I'm trying to determine where a Aeromotive 200 fuel pump will fit on the 1969 20 gallon tank, in the center or rear corner?
With the measurement I can figure where to place the pumps baffle so that it will not interfere with the float, also need to keep in mind that the filler tube doesn't come in contact as well.
I do not have a tank or sending unit available to inspect. IMO, it looks like the pump could be mounted in the center, that's if the sending units float doesn't hit the pumps baffle.
Thanks for your help!

CedAbedaPep reacted to stangs-R-me in '69 Hardtop on Limitless this week ...
Watch this show when I can and had to do a double take earlier this week !! It was the star car of the day so it was in a number of scenes.
Pretty clean looking dark blue '69 Hardtop with Hood Scoop & Mirrors (no engine numbers on scoop, so Sports Appearance Group if orig and guessing a 302 under the hood), standard black interior ... wheels looked like Torq Thrust style.
Funny thing is we then are watching Saturday Night Live on HULU today and on an episode from last Spring the EXACT SAME car on is on the show !!
Pretty strange stuff.

CedAbedaPep reacted to MN69Grande in The EPA wants to ruin our hobby
Ok Everyone,
Not sure if you have heard but the EPA released a proposal for a new rule on Feb 8 of this year. The rule would prohibit converting any vehicle designed and produced for street use into a vehicle for racing. It would also prohibit many suppliers from producing many emission related or changing parts. Say goodbye to Drag Races and Track days unless you have the Money for a purpose built race car.
If you follow Roadkill you may have seen them posting about this, also today's MCA email contained some information. Please go and sign the following petition to show your disapproval and get everyone you know to do the same:
www.wh.gov/ifXr1
Here is an article about the rule:

CedAbedaPep reacted to shaun071 in Black/silver stripe 69 Coupe
Hi All, I'm tossing around the idea of painting my coupe black with silver striping and tail light panel. Same basic scheme as what's on it now, just silver where it's black and black where it's blue.
Thanks Shaun

CedAbedaPep reacted to El_Matador909 in Project Orange
well after seeing the many posts people have been putting up of their cars, i decided to post mine as well.
A little history before i get into the "resurrection", Dad bought the fastback back in '93, restored it, drove it for awhile and then gave it to me as a high school present to drive during school. (lucky teen right!?)
Drove it through high school (graduated in 2002) and some college, did some minor upgrades while in school and then decided to park it and really focus on school and my career. Many many years later (13 years total) I now decided to bring her back to life and enjoy her once again.
Currently with the help of my big brother for the build (im not the greatest mechanic), I will be upgrading the engine and the suspension. I recently bought a coilover IFS with power rack that will be arriving next week and the engine will be built by a local mechanic to a 347 stroker.
There is so much to do to the car but am focusing on the main parts that will make it run and handle.
Glad to share my experience just like every other 69-70 mustang Enthusiast on this site.
here are some pictures of the past and now. I know i know, it looks sad but will be a great ending.
This was back in 2004 at Fabulous Fords Forever
Getting some work done at my brothers house
Current pictures and progress
Dusty but Happy to be awaken
New IFS coilover built by Dannys Original Customs
Engine Ready to be sent out to be built (original block FYI)
Engine bay ready to be cleaned up and ready for the new IFS
Ill be posting more pictures as the build continues
Thanks for looking

CedAbedaPep reacted to nickjames138 in Need a mechanic in Los Angeles area/valley
I have a 351W in mine with a bigger cam (not sure which because I didn't do it) I also have an edelbrock carb which isn't serving its purpose and I have a new Holley and distributor in the mail. I just got vintage air and the mechanic bumped the timing down. It's been running fun in colder weather, but two things....it's hot today and I just filled up the tank. Right after filling up it bogged down. I opened the tank and it started right up. Now I just drove it all day and it's hot...I turned on the AC and it bogged down and wouldn't start back up. I let it sit for 10 minutes and drove uphill for 20 mins then was coasting downhill (a lot of air) and it stalled while driving downhill. Now I'll have to sit for 10 more minutes and it will start right back up and drive another 20 mins. I'm not a pro with engines, but I've been tuning on this carb with no luck. Does anyone know a good mechanic around LA?

CedAbedaPep reacted to rangerdoc in FS: Two sets of shocks and a set of shock caps
Everything was for my '69 coupe, but I'm pretty sure these fit most 65-70.
The Excel-G/GR2s are basically brand new. Maybe 100 miles, if that. I bought them to replace the Gas-A-Just and then when my steering went south I replaced everything with coilovers and Bilsteins. I also damaged the rears a bit during removal, but now I know better, sorry. $75+shipping.
Plus one set of shock tower caps. I believe they are OEM. I never replaced them and I'm the 2nd owner of the car. $20+shipping.

CedAbedaPep reacted to El_Matador909 in Front suspension and disc brakes for sale
Mustang friends,
I am posting this to draw interest in those who are looking for a front disc brake conversion kit and suspension parts. I recently just bought an IFS for my 69 and will be selling the suspension i currently have on the car.
I will be taking out the suspension and brakes within the next couple of weeks and will post pictures of what i am selling, but for now here is a list of the items. I would like to prefer to sell everything together but may piece out if there are more interests on the other parts.
Brakes were bought from ABS Power Brake in Orange, CA and will not include the power booster since i will be using it for my new set up
- 11" rotors
- single piston calipers
- spindles
- mounting brackets
- all hardware that came with the kit
Front Suspension (Grab-a-Track) from Mustangs Plus
- Upper and lower control arms
- Springs
-Spring perches
-End link kit
- Shocks
I will add pictures of the suspension and brakes when i get a chance.
I will add more items as i begin to take off the suspension.
I prefer local (So. Cal) but can ship at buyers expense.
Cheers.

CedAbedaPep reacted to rusty428cj in 1969 Mach 1 Restoration
This 1969 Mach 1 was bought new by the current owners Aunt who was a school teacher in West Virginia. It has a 351 with a 3 speed manual transmission. The current owner bought it in 1992.
Looks pretty good in the photo.
Around 10 years ago he quit driving it when he noticed this rust around the power steering bracket. He did tell me a few years ago he did take it out for a short drive.
The owner starting taking it apart and had it delivered to us.
I noticed around the quarter scoop hole that something was going on. It looked like they had put a quarter patch on. This is what we found. They had a quarter skin over the original rusted out quarter panel.

CedAbedaPep reacted to 390mach1 in Price Check
I'm heading a different direction with my Mach and I'm planning on selling the 390 that came with it. I'm trying to see that everyone thinks the price is so I can get it for sale.
1967 S code 390, with GT heads, I have the bell housing, manifolids, flywheel, this motor is complete from intake to pan with the extras that I said. I have never fired the motor but it does turn over. I don't know anything about the motor other than that.

CedAbedaPep reacted to 69volunteer in Brass Temp Sender to Alum Intake
This is actually on another car but thought I would post here for some insight. I have another car that I have taken out of 'service' while I restore the gauge cluster. Like usual, a medium sized job like this turned into a new dash wiring harness, new engine harness, all new plugs and wires, etc.
The temp sender and the restored original gauge do not mate (ditched the cheap aftermarket one from when I bought the car) so I am trying to remove the brass temp sender that is sitting in the alum intake. The sender is out but the brass reducer will not come out. I have put heat on it, pb blaster, etc.
The motor is in the car and I don't have the best of leverage. Any other thoughts on getting it loose? Probably been in there 20 years or more.

CedAbedaPep reacted to shancock1229 in Radiator and water pump
I am building a 69 with a 351w. The engine was missing the water pump and the car doesn't have a radiator. I have looked at several cars online and have noticed the radiator ports on some are located on the passenger side and on others the bottom port is on the drivers side. I need to purchase a water pump and radiator. Can anyone give me some advise. The engine is 30 over bore and will have air conditioning.
Thanks, Scott-------Rossville, Ga
