I've become sold on the teflon versions. Any engine I've had a chance to look at some time after installing one has been bone dry. Only a couple I've seen but one was a driver for a couple of years and that one alone was about enough to sell me on the things.Teflon rear seals seem to be mandatory on later diesel pickup engines for some reason. For whatever that's worth.

I put a recovery cap on mine with an overflow tank, never have to worry about it again.

yes, it is normal, plus, i always use 13lb caps. one that is much less will easily allow water to escape. i would put the level around 3/4" below the lowest part of the neck providing it is still above the tubes at least 1/4".

My fuse and wire are good size. Don't know the wire gauge as all the stuff used I bought came together, I bought used but unopened. The fuse cover is off in the pic.

Instead of a fuse use a circuit breaker and just because its a 100amp alternator does not mean you need a 100amp breaker, a 90amp would be best.

Mark, everything I've read on it says to use a fuse. I have an 80 amp in mine.

You probably need to ask on a Cougar forum.  I just work on wires; I don't have access to the various cars to give you an answer as to where things go.
That said, you should talk to my wife: she tells me where to go all the time...and it is usually only one place...

Nice pic, your car looks great.
The styling on these cars were just fantastic , streets ahead of the opposition.

I rebuilt my under dash A/C box and replaced the evaporator and heater core with parts from NPD. I purchased the Classic Air/Original Air 69-70 Mustang/Cougar A/C Compressor Upgrade Kit V8 STAGE-1, which did not include the condenser or expansion valve. This kit is $499. They also offer a 69-70 Mustang/Cougar A/C Performance Upgrade Kit V8 STAGE-2 kit that includes the condenser, Sight Glass Hose, and expansion valve. This kit is $799. I got the Stage 1 kit and shopped around for the other parts and got them for less than the cost of the Stage 2 kit. I see they offer a satin black compressor for an additional $75. Get a can of satin spray paint for less than $7. Along with the compressor, I also painted all the nuts and bolts.
Test fitting before painting all the parts.

A slightly different approach, autometer gauges in original cluster. The outside gauges have an extra globe added for turn signals and high beam is also a seperate globe. Not for everyone, but it works well

Just try to follow a build or two on the FB version, its all over the place. So many non qualified that give their personal opinion on subjects they really have very little knowledge on. As I said, it's just my personal opinion, I don't like it. No problem if you do, so do

Shep69 reacted to bigmal in Chasing a Vibration - Flex Plate?
That is the first time I’ve noticed the ameter do that. I had almost completely flattened the battery starting as I hadn’t noticed the fuel shutoff was closed (part of the GPS disabling). Not that this should cause the flickering. I will add that to the list.
i am interested in the idea of unbolting the torque converter. Can’t see why tha wouldn’t work so interested in any comments on this before I damage something.
i have a busy weekend and not sure if I can get to the car. May have to take some more time off work. I’m not feeling well. Must be coming down with something

I would try and run it with the yoke in even if you have to take the uni joint out so you can eliminate the tail shaft .

Shit that’s a bad vibration  Mal the way your steering wheel is moving.
That’s got to bloody frustrating. I gather you have eliminated the wheels and tail shaft by removing them and running it up on stands.

The rear bumper came fro NPD, I was amazed how well it fit. One of the only things that fit right out of the box.
