Mountaineerfan reacted to det0326 in Regulator roller for window?
Not sure if this is correct or not. It doesn't list 69 mustang but it does list 69 cougar. It does give the dimensions tho so u could measure one of your good ones.

Noticed too that u mentioned glue window in again. If u are having an issue with it breaking loose what some are doing is cutting a suitable length of rubber hose and using for a stop on the rails/guides to stop the down motion before it hits the center rubber stop. This keeps pressure off the window putting stress on the adhesive.

Mountaineerfan reacted to 69RavenConv in Trunk light?
Sounds right, I have the convenience group in my car. For whatever reason, I thought all '69's had the 12V wire to the trunk but it appears I was mistaken. First time that's ever happened. :)

I'm still holding out hope for a Hot Wheels of a 69 convertible that ISN'T a Shelby.

I would definitely order a Marti. You have a nicely optioned car at the very least. Depending upon how complete the car is, you can probably deduce the original color by looking for overspray or other hidden spots of original color.
You may not want to keep it original, pink or otherwise, but it's always cool to know what it started out as.
I had a poster in my garage for a long time of a '69 vert in pink. Not a great poster but I have a vert and there aren't a ton of posters with a '69 convertible on them, so you take what you can get... :)

Thanks everyone!
So here's the tool I ended up getting. It worked beautifully! It took longer to open the box and look at the directions than it did to actually put the mirror on! Now I have extras for future things that may come up. Right tool for the job....

Ridge, that can't be from Harbor Freight, because looks like it says made in USA on it.

Mountaineerfan reacted to aslanefe in Headlight Bleed?
@Mountaineerfan
Make sure you get the 69 ones, as far as I know the pieces that go on aft of fender are the same on 69 and 70, but the ones that go on front (behind the headlight) are different between 69 and 70.
If you can't find an original set, the ones I posted a link for might be your only option for 69.

Mountaineerfan reacted to Silverjade in Odd question
Well, the most recent Mustang Club Magazine has a cover article on the Mustang II in the mid 70's that only had a few convertibles made by an outside company that did cut the top off. Well give the young man the benefit of the doubt,..
"Mustang II, Boredom Zero!!"

I once had a guy ask me why i had mustang script letters on a challenger / my 69 Mach 1

Ya, experts everywhere. I had an expert tell me the shaker air cleaner on my 69 wasn't stock. Thank you very little.

Mountaineerfan reacted to 69RavenConv in Odd question
No, not true. Ford made them on the assembly line. There are many differences between a 'vert and a hardtop, much more than just cutting the roof off.

Who ever told you that they didn't make Mustang convertibles in 1969 is just odd and should never be listened to seriously.

Mountaineerfan reacted to Kris in Dash Turn Signal Lights Kinda Not Working?
I had to replace the turn signal flasher and the emergency flasher to get mine working properly. I believe I also had to reverse polarity on both. Don’t waste your money on the stupid adapter just use a small pick or screwdriver and remove the wires from the plug and swap their locations. I also had a led flasher I purchased that was supposed to be the correct one from CJ’s but didn’t have a ground and it wouldn’t work. I purchased 2 of these from Amazon and they worked great.

Mountaineerfan got a reaction from capemustang in What did you do to/for your Mustang today?
Not today, but over the weekend:
Just got the car back from the shop after the accident. Installed a new FlowKooler aluminum water pump, and took her for a spin!

After changing the water pump, I no longer had coolant pooling on top of the timing cover behind the pump, but now I have oil pooling!
Got everything cleaned off, then started the car and watched. Started seeing oil begin weeping through a tiny hairline crack on top of the timing cover and running to the area where the pooling was located. Stopped the engine, cleaned everything off, sprayed some carb cleaner just to wipe it down, and then applied a small thin bit of Quick Steel high heat putty to the crack and smoothed it like drywall mud. I let it sit for two hours (package said one), and then fired it back up. Voila! No more oil pooling! I feel good about my fix, as the timing chain cover does not have a lot of pressure to it, and it was just a tiny crack. That was 4 days ago. I've driven it every day, and have been checking. Still no leak! Hooray!
The picture show the pooling, although there was usually much more than this! The crack was up at the top of the cover, near the bolt.

As far as I know, head rest that moves up and down was standard on 69.

Yes it is, and yes it is!
Even more exciting, my car was chosen to be in the Mustang Featured Area at the May 2 Caffeine & Octane! Gulp! Time to get to cleaning!!
