    AAW wire harness question.

I agree that the information that was provided is informative for those browsing the forum about wiring harnesses and what may be a shortcoming for this particular brand. I have a Snickers bar if anyone needs one.

The stripes are mate/flat finish. i really like the look and handling of the low profile tires but they do give a very stiff ride and in a 50 year old car fairly noisy. when i do the floor pan work i will add sound deadening. i priced replacement tires and should be able to get them for around $200 a tire. The 18" & 20" rims seem a little pricey but it handles great. i am looking into rolling the rear fender lips so i can drop the rear 2", its a little too high for my taste. The front fenders are already rolled.

    SSBC Disc brakes woes

Friend - For the front on my '69, I bought 70+ drum spindles for the big bearing. I then bought a MustangSteve Cobra bracket set and bolted those onto the stock spindles. Those will accept 94-04 Cobra 13" rotors and calipers to match OR you could bolt on anything that interchanges with that series Cobra caliper and rotor (think Baer, etc.). You might need to source caliper bracket bolts - Lowes, Home Depot, etc. For the rear, I bought a set of brackets from Currie that go over the rear bearings and serve to retain the axles on my 8" rear. They let you bolt on a set of 94-04 Cobra brake calipers and rotors for the rear. I'm using a Lokar universal style parking brake cable set and handle to match. This gives you factory calipers and rotors and sometimes you can find good used stuff on Craigslist. Alternatively, you could look for Granada parts but I felt like the newer Cobra brakes would be better than something from the mid-70s... Nathan

Thanks, much appreciated. Much of the work is done, some knick knack stuff but eventually i will need to address some floor pan issues and cowl issues, right now we will enjoy it, she runs great.

Okay. I am really getting excited! The paint is on and it looks fantastic! Still needs color sanding. Need to paint a few more parts and paint the black Shaker hood stripe. Cant wait to get her home and install the steering and suspension and put her down on wheels.

    Mike65's 69 Coupe build

Due to concerns from members here & on a couple other forums about the ignition box being to close to the headers I ended up moving it back to its original spot in front of the l/s shock tower on the l/s front inner fender panel. Since the drive train is in & hooked up I turned my attention back to the wiring. I started hooking up the wires from the ignition box to the coil, the distributor, the wires from the AAW harness to the distributor, water temp sender, oil pressure sender, & to the temp sender for the electric cooling fans. I also hooked up the heater hoses.

Theres always the "cut and fit" option for a steel bumper.

Front tyre size to match 275 drag radials

My understanding is because an 8 inch wheel has an overall width of 9 inches. The 8 inches is measured where the tire bead is located. Half of 9 is 4-1/2.
