I would highly recommend that you have something on top to protect everything that is now on the top of the tank. Here is what I did for mine

Custom tank armor has been installed and some wire protection to protect all that new wiring.

Ok, so it was great to me, I am sure the rest of you know it. I was trying to find a way to put tranny fluid into my convert top pump, and I had just finished a bottle of ivory soap. So I thought of putting the tranny fluid into the empty bottle so I could squirt it into my pump.  It turns out the bottle top from Ivory dish soap fits perfectly on a bottle of tranny fluid or oil!!!!  This is a huge discovery to me.   Now I just put the new top on a plastic bottle of oil, and I can slow or direct it's flow; squirt it where you want it to be!
I am sure you all wanted to know this!   Save the top of your dish soap for a more useful purpose.  This of course assumes you know what dish soap is. I use it to clean my greasy hands, what else would you use it for?

Completed the instrument panel rebuild with Electro-Luminescent kit. So far very pleased with the outcome. I'll keep you posted on how it comes together when its in the car. I haven't gotten a quote yet on the paint (waiting on the body work) to see what sort of budget I'll have to work with... But I do know that it'll have to be stripped off so the current color doesn't have to be the final product.
So I have been toying around with what I would like and what makes sense. Of course the bottom line will determine what I get in the end. Please excuse the crude rendering. There's a lot that isn't correct on the drawing, but it gives a good idea of the overall look-n-feel of the car. I plan on making my own custom graphics to have a sign shop make for me. The first is the current color with a stainless steel/red graphic and blacked out hood and rear section. The next is white (would hide any body imperfections) with blacked out hood/etc and red/black graphics.

Congratulations on getting your Mustang back. Finding a car you once owned years ago and actually being able to get it back is a big deal that doesn't happen often. I will look forward to following your restoration of it. Would like to hear more about the Mustang as well.
It took more than 30 years for me to get back my original '69 Mustang GT so I can really relate to your excitement.
