unilec got a reaction from RPM in NASCAR engine 69 Fastback
Awesome, cars going to be a weapon when you finish. If you have not already thought of it now would be a good time to weld in reinforcement plates on the shock towers, as well as the "dog bone" on the outside.

unilec got a reaction from bigmal in Cabin drumming with extractors vs iron manifold
Mal, sounds like you have exhaust drone issues. You can fit "J" pipes to your exhaust to help eliminate this problem, unfortunately you need to know where to fit them and the correct length, but worth doing some research into.Do you have a "X" or "H" pipe joining both exhausts together?

unilec got a reaction from Raven R code in Trunk weatherstrip question
I have just done my 65FB, so what I do is put a line of masking tape just outside the area that is the gasket line before the glue is applied, this prevents you getting glue marks on your paint outside the gasket line.

I would stay with body colour, the 2 pack clear is a lot more resistant to oil and brake fluid spills.

I would recommend painting the engine bay and the trunk area on the rotisserie, it's a pain to get into the tight spots, but a lot easier on a rotisserie.

unilec got a reaction from RPM in 15x10 Magnum 500s
So is that how you bought the car, with the gold stripes, or have you restored your car? Love the 4 post by the way, something i need to invest in, lying on my back under the car is really getting old now, and so am I. :-(

Beautiful job on the painting, I would have thought the 427 would be the silver grey in the side stripe, but black would look good too.

unilec got a reaction from bigmal in Chasing a Vibration - Flex Plate?
I have just measured my old 28oz flex plate counter weight and I have the same measurements as RPM, so you may be onto something with the wrong plate.

unilec got a reaction from Shep69 in One wire alternator question
Instead of a fuse use a circuit breaker and just because its a 100amp alternator does not mean you need a 100amp breaker, a 90amp would be best.

unilec got a reaction from MAC390 in C6 SHIFTING
I bought a rebuild manual by George Reid C4 and C6, mainly because I want to keep my car as original as possible when it goes through the testing grounds and once registered it's out with the auto an in with my 5 speed. He mentions in the trouble shooting section with early or late shifting between 2 to 3, that it can be the vacuum modulator or rod malfunction, also valve body malfunction or governor malfunction or loose tubes on the governor distributor. Makes no sense to me but maybe to you. I have a damaged parking pawl on my C4 and that why I bought the book.

unilec reacted to newstang in Exhaust Options - Heidts 4 Link
It will need to be custom, which is not much $
I have a 4.6 and used an x pipe made for that engine, after the mufflers is where you will need it custom made.
The pipes will have to go under the axle, there will be Zero room above it.
Dont worry, you cant see them when on the ground.

unilec got a reaction from Bill Bailey in Need info on tires and stripe my car came with...
I believe the 600 was a stand alone stripe not found on other mustangs as is the Mach one stripe kit, all other cars came with the GT stripe, a little bit of info here.
