  1. I would not take that car on.. to much rust..I would look for another body.. I cut up a 69 mach for parts.. when we loaded it on a roll back the cowl split and almost left the front end there on the ground..It was a little worse than the one shown.. there is a point when it is only a parts car..I found a convertible for 1000 bucks front hit.... body bent ..and missing trim.. way to far gone to repair..
  2. I have used coat hangers for wire before.. worked fine..
  3. Going out there the 23rd to play anyone else?
  4. I bought pistons from DSS and beat the snot out of them with NOS..no problems with there parts.. Almost bought there rotating assembly when I went 393.. went with Probe instead.. 427w from ford short block could be used with some open chambers that are out there now ..and thicker head gaskets..it all depends what you want.. I used the DSS piston motor ( 351w) with a B&M blower..11.5cr and pump gas.. beat the chrome off the rings every year had to reseal the motor.. but it was really fun with the NO2..
  5. Bought my 427w form Ford racingparts123.com Free shipping No tax..out of state Cost alot less than local builders can supply If I bought in state it would have added $ 500 more smakers ordered it and had it in a week..Love it and will do it again
  6. X-2 You have to split the vent and paint it black for the origanal look...its a pain but depending on your color of the car it will really make the side of the car look alot better...some colors look ok with everthing painted..
  7. Fun ford at royal purple raceway march 23...
  8. I got a vr jr ..with a 1"super sucker on top of my 427w...a scoop is needed...carb is out of the hood..also 1/2" nos plate...
  9. Bought one for my 69 ...crimped at the ends...wrong taper...bent it to match and the bottom got a little wave in it now..only on the bottom.....i would have to say it looks better than a 40 year old smashed one....but for the price it was not to bad...i would try to find someone that would repair OE trim if it was not a driver....
  10. I have seen several with the release handle broke off or rewelded.. Wd-40 would have saved most of them...had to spray mine several times over the years..
  11. Cvf on my 427w no problems..i take mine to 7200 all the time...still have all stock brackets..and a sfi balancer with a spacer..
  12. I could look at mine and see but I think they are grounds... also check your starter..and do you have a good ground from the battery to the block? and from the block to the body? Also no grounds through aluminum..

Will be at royal purple all weekend in April..Love the smell of NITRO in the morning...
  14. Glad to see another convertible survive .. No mater where it is.. I have seen two others here in Texas and they almost made me cry.... such a loss..they were so far gone they weren't worth the parts they had..
  15. Had cam and j302 heads on a 351w ran 12.0 purchaced afr 205s and changed nothing else ...ran 11.49 .....heads woke mine up....
  16. You might want to find a donor AC car and steal the dash and components...keep it all stock looking..
  17. http://micarcovers.com/ I have two of them.. a little costly but one rode out hurricane Ike. I bought the durafin with a antenna sleeve.. really soft on the inside and breathable..very heavy on the outside like canvas..
  18. I have used a jack stand on a skate before and kept mine mobile.. Just take many measurements diagonally and such when you cut..do only one side at a time if you can.. also you have a roof on your car it probably wont move to much .. also keep the doors on and closed if you can it will help keep everything straight. I did floors torque boxes and frame rails on my convertible ( with the engine in) just take baby steps and make sure nothing moves. when you cut out and repaired a panel. I also built a jack bolt ( from the door hinge to the striker ) when I had to remove one door at a time to keep the car from bowing.. also support from many jacks also..
  19. Got them too.. under a car right now .. It is a lot easier to move a car around with two people though.. you can move it with one person but it is hard to start it moving with a fully dressed car and move it exactly where you want it..Some time I just use floor jack in the rear and skates in the front..
  20. I might be able to attend ponies in the park in Beaumont ,Texas... anyone else??? The Oreilly nationals are the following weekend I will be there all weekend..
  21. Some of the 250 six cyl came with 8" also ..5 lug..
