Very busy month and half done and dusted. Lots of fun had, now back into the routine of life.

In between jobs this week I got two coats of this clear on the new Blue Thunder intake.

For those who are interested, I mixed 60ml total for the first coat and used maybe 50ml. Second coat I mixed 40ml and used most of it. It is mixed 3:1.
I always worry about not mixing enough or mixing too much and wasting it. This might help others who also think too much like I do.

And with the EFI carb. Bling bling!

Thanks, Bob. Much appreciated. She is ok now, all that matters is she is still here and my kids still have their mum.

The wheel looks real nice. What a change. And what a very nice thing to do by the gentleman passing it on.

Yeah, I think I'd do the same if you didn't want A/C. I was looking at it and thinking this thing is going to cost a bomb to rebuild and probably cheaper and more reliable, go away from the original controls, to swap it to a modern unit.

I can't even comprehend what that would be like to live in, such a different climate to here. But we are hoping to experience it before too long, looking at doing a road trip in an RV across a fair chunk of your country, either in Nov/Dec but is now looking like it'll be Feb next year as it's a fair bit cheaper to travel at that time.

Hope the good weather continues for you anyway, get lots done!

Gees, is someone walking them to your place? I'd expect less time than that for my parts to get to Aus.

I have the same gut feeling to tell you the truth. You can see the low point to the top right of it. Didn't really have that close of a look until I blew these pics up and then went back to look.
Looks like it is just another reason to bight the bullet and strip it right back. So much for the "finished project" I purchased in hope of driving straight away.
Still, looking on the bright side, I'm learning every square inch of my car. I'm gaining something out of it at least.

Got me stumped there sorry, Shaun. Been a long time since I've laid eyes on one.
Years ago I put a T5 behind a 351C in an XF and I can't recall modifying it much other than the shifter hole.

Absolutely agree, I find it very relaxing. Only stressful thing is you can't put wood back together like you can metal if you cut it too short. ha! And all those mitre joints you are doing the trim with are sure easily to make an error on.

This is something I made years ago. I enjoyed the entire process.

It's been almost a year now since I purchased my 69 428CJ R-code. I've been floating around this forum for a little while, but thought it time to share and to keep a bit of a log with my car.

Ever since I was a little kid, all I have ever wanted is a 69/70 Mach 1. In February 2011 I flew to the USA, met up with a guy who I had been talking to for a few months, and purchased his 69 Mach 1 R-code 428 Cobra Jet with a 4 speed close ratio transmission and 3.91:1 traction lock diff.

Here's some pics of it during the purchase process:

The pics that were emailed to me when I found it

Coming back from my first drive in Louisiana. It was the first time I had ever driven a Mustang, first time to drive a LHD manual (the day before was the first time to drive a LHD car which was the hire car) and also the first time I've driven a big block. So it was a very quick learning curve.

It loaded up to go meet the truck for delivery to Los Angeles

Waiting 4 hours in a Wallmart carpark, the truck was extremely late even though we were told they would be 20mins after we arrived. Standing in that carpark was an eye opener on its own. Many people stopped to take photos which was awesome! And many others stopped to buy drugs from someone dealing not far from where we were. I've never seen anything like it.

Going onto the truck in Lafayette to make the journey to L.A.

After arriving in L.A. and giving it a wash

And me with my new toy, extremely over whelmed and extremely exhausted from all the travelling and lack of sleep.

I'm was so happy with my purchase, I couldn't describe the feeling. It's the one and only car I have ever really wanted and the one car I will never sell. EVER!!

I finally got word of it arriving in May and was quickly down to pick it up. Here she was waiting for me. Unfortunately it was running like shit! It wasn't running great when we dropped it off to the exporter but knew it had a few things needing attention.

I still feel like a teenager, don't feel like 30 at all. But my body feels much older. Mainly due to that Honda XR650R hanging on the wall. 10 years ago I was hit head on by a car on my way home from work. The bike was 2 weeks old, it has 796km's on the clock. The other half burnt to the ground. It was because of that, I was able to get my Mustang's. I was lucky to be here still, I was told the only reason I lived was my backpack stopped my neck breaking. Took me 6 months to be walking again. So I promised myself after everything was settled, I'd buy the one car I've always wanted. So I did

You're right too, that little rust spot isn't bad. Was happy to find it like that, could have had a blob of bog or something covering it up. Pretty minor so that's good.

    Here's another pic

If modifying it makes you happy, do it.

If worrying about what the next person thinks, build it to keep someone else happy.

If you are doing it to get the most value or to make money, this is probably the wrong hobby. These things are money pits. How anyone makes money, unless they are deliberately ripping both the person they bought it off and the person they are selling to, I don't get how profiting off a resto is possible.

This does that too but it does control the timing. You can adjust it on the handheld screen.
Off the top of my head the vacumm was required for the fuel regulator.

That's great how quick yours learned after the modification. Pretty reassuring it is doing exactly what is needed.
