  1. 100% agree with this. They are a bit odd looking as the body lines just don't flow like they should.
  2. Looking good!!! Glad you were able to get it all worked out.
  3. Certainly on my bucket list to do, but looks to be a bit far for me this year. Good luck and have a great time!
  4. Having a 390 car, and having to deal with all the issues, I 100% agree with Max Power. You will have less issues, more parts options, and equal if not more power than a 390, by going with a 351W based motor, possibly even stroker. I blew a head gasket a couple of years ago and it was not that much more to go with my current set up. I am now running a very mild 445 stoker, with a smaller cam, stock alum heads, and barely getting to 400RWHP. There is more there possible, but I wasn't after highest HP. I would have gone 351W stoker, but wanted to stay true to my S code, and man has it tested me over the years.
  5. I have a big block with hooker headers and have no issues.
  6. I went Street or Track coilover set up with a unisteer power steering rack and could not be happier. I would suggest calling and talking to Shaun at Street or Track about options. Great guy and he will certainly lay our your options. Lots to choose from out there so good luck.
  7. That is a nice modification there. Love the work. Great work as always.
  8. I used one when I put in my power steering. Nice piece and it give me a little more leg room in the car.
  9. Looking good. Lets see some color on this bad boy.
  10. I would be interested in this as well. Would also be interesting in their Fuel Command Center as well. I have seen through other websites that there appears to be a bit of a back order on them right now. Might want to get full details on supply because they are flying off the shelves according to other sites.
  11. It looked odd to me too, then I saw where the add says: Body sectioned 4-1/2" the entire length of the car
  12. Before my 5 speed swap, my 390 with C6 was at about 3000 RPM at 70MPH with 3.25 gears, so you aren't going to drop a lot of RPM with the 3.55 gear range. I would suggest looking at an overdrive option as well.
  13. Too bad you aren't closer. I have a set of Chrome 17X8 and 18X10 that I am no longer using since I switches to the black wheels. Cutouts would be nice. I thought about those for mine too.
  14. Like the rims and think it will match with the car well. I will be honest to say I like the look of the car better without the side pipes.
  15. Sorry for your loss. Hard to lose anyone especially a good friend like that.
  16. X3 for the TKO600. I would bet you could probably get the T5 to last for some time, but the one time it doesn't hold up, your out to replace or upgrade then. Make sure to get a good shifter too. IMO, those make a world of difference for the longevity of a transmission. On the 6 speed upgrade. Those are very big transmissions. I think more times then not modification is needed to the tunnel for it to fit. I think I remember someone on here doing a swap and not having to do major tunnel work, but that may just have to do with the car and factory tolerances.
  17. I used Modern Driveline for my 5 speed swap as well. They were very knowledgeable and had everything I needed. I would recommend not only looking and your current motor but any future motor plans and buy the proper transmission to be ready for any upgrades. Save you some time and money later on. I am glad I made the switch as the car has been a blast to drive (when its not been in the shop for other issues).
  18. Great pics and certainly some nice rides there.
  19. Good looking car and nice upgrades coming. Keep the updates coming, and good luck on all the upgrades.
  20. I did this conversion last year with my Big Block. I contacted Modern Driveline and they will have everything you need. I bought everything from them expect the transmission as I got a good deal from another vendor. I went with a TKO 600 and hydraulic clutch set up. I could not be happier. In fact, I went from 3.25 gear to a 3.50 gear and still runs better on the highway and lower RPM's. It was certainly a big project, but was well worth it to me as I was converting from an auto to 5 speed and the car is much more fun to drive now.
  21. I used the hoses that they sent with the kit. That sounds about right though since you are only going from right at the brake booster down to the front of the tranny.
  22. Kevin It took a bit to get it aligned and installed, but it wasn't bad at all. I did call them a couple of times with some questions and they walked me right through it. The pedal effort of very minimal. I think you would be good with either kit as I have seen others use the American Powertrain with no issues. I just used them as I got more stuff from them when I did my 5 speed swap.
  23. I used the Hydraulic set up from Modern driveline and been very happy with the results. I used the hydraulic TO bearing vs the slave set up and have had no issues. I did the conversion when I added the TKO600 to mine. It took a bit to bleed the systems, but has been great once that was done.
