Grabber70Mach reacted to bryonbush in thoughts on selling fastback
Technically my dad did for him. And it was well before my adventures into Mustangs. Both his cars were impeccable restorations that would win awards everywhere he went. So much so he stopped bringing them to shows. He ended up with parkinsons and as time went on, turned into dementia. The last straw was him "working" on the car fixing an issue that he had back on the car many moons back. My grandmother told my dad to sell them and unfortunately for my dad, who grew up restoring the 34, didnt have the time, or drive to keep it around due to him having to take care of gramps. Sad story all the way around but its life.

It's been a little pressure, but they are very nice people to work with. Getting married is a very special day and they want to have the Cougar in pictures.

Grabber70Mach reacted to ThePoose in 69 Mach 1 Re-restore Restomod
Saved up for one of these as a Christmas present to myself. Wanted it for years and wondered why I waited so long. The only thing worse that cleaning the underside is doing it on your back.
Not the wheels that will be on the car, just using the wheels off my son's 2003 Mach 1 that have been sitting in my garage for two years.
Cleaned off all the old undercoating and seam sealer. Removing fifty years of gunk and grime suuuuucks.
Added new seam sealer. Still some more prep then prime and paint. I'm on the fence whether to add Raptor liner to the bottom. I don't expect I'll be driving it in anything but the best weather, but the liner is easy to clean and will help hide ugly welds that are coming with the subframe connectors and rear suspension.

Here is the TCP power rack installed. That sticker is coming off. Power booster rebuilt and installed. Stainless front brake lines in. Baer master and prop temporarily installed. Mounting base for hydraulic clutch mounted beneath that.
From the back.
It's a really nice piece. It ought to be. Probably the nicest it will ever look.

Grabber70Mach reacted to Mach1 Driver in 1G to 3G alternator conversion
This is specifically for a 69 and 70 (because they are brother cars) but the concepts apply to all. Frankly the only reason I did the 70 is because it was the first year to have fuse links, and I wanted to see how they did it. I've been working with PA Performance on a 3G alternator and found their instructions woefully lacking. FYI a 1G is generation one, etc., and the 3G is prized for its high amp output at low rpm. The 69 is on page 1, the 70 on page 2 and all the notes (which you really need) are on page 3 of the attached PDFs.

No such thing. Best thing to do is to get a molex multi-pin quick disconnect and use wires instead of the circuit card.

We finished removing and welding a new roof skin to replace the one with 50 drilled holes and bondo stalagtites hanging from the ceiling. Mike was excited initially as he had a temporary sunroof!

Grabber70Mach reacted to Rindelmach1 in Is it worth converting to rear fold down seats?
My 69 Mach 1 was build from factory with fixed rear seats. I'd like to keep it stock so i don't lose any value being that i have original engine. trans and seats. Question is can i convert to fold down rear seats with original ford parts and still retain the value?
