  1. I used dynamat on the interrior firewall and then bough the exact pad you listed. I had trouble fitting it in there with the plastic push connectors used to hold it in place. I ended up cutting it at the steering column and just using the right side of the pad.
  2. Nothing like beating a bunch of GMs...LOL Congratulations!!
  3. Not sure how they compare, but your link is for years 64-67. Don't think it will work on 69-70.
  4. I ran the Pertronix setup with the flamethrower coil on a 390 I had in a 66 Fairlane years ago. Was very pleased with it. Simple and had it running in 30 minutes.
  5. Maybe I'm missing something here. What is the purpose of the Shelby Drop? I just thought it was to lower the front end but I see now I am wrong.
  6. +1 on the brake fluid fairies!!!
  7. That was just the way the sun hit it.
  8. Dave, My car is the Candy Apple Red that Ford used back in 69. Beech Grove is a suburb of Indianapolis. I use to live in Middletown a few years back and worked in Hamilton before I retired.
  9. Welcome to the forum Dave. Yes, we love pics here and all the stories that go with them.
  10. I thought it went through the floor pan and not the firewall. I could be wrong.
  11. Stay away from New Vintage Gauges. Go with Dakota Digital. They make some real nice looking analog gauges.
  12. What's good about this is that you canapply 12v or a ground either from a pin or through the wire and test a circuit while everything is connected in the car. You can also use it as a multimeter.
  13. Was talking with a friend of mine and he had one of these. This thing does everything. So easy to use and great for troubleshooting our cars, especially for those who hate electrical problems. I'm thinking of purchasing this one because it has the wire piercing leads. You can check out the videos on youtube. Here is the one I'm looking at. http://www.amazon.com/Power-Probe-PP3LS01-Lead-Combo/dp/B003HV3WN6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1398942753&sr=8-2&keywords=power+probe I'm sold on this thing. What do you guys think?
  14. I have been looking at Fordstrokers.com Great motors but pricy also.
  15. It's hard to tell without pictures. Just take a couple and post them. I'm sure someone will know. Congrats on the new car. Keep us informed on your progress.
  16. With 3:89 gears I would go with an AOD or an Electric AOD. That way you will turn less RPMs at highway speed.
  17. I am doing an AAW wiring harness. It is kind of easy but you need to pay attention to detail. It is harder than you think but not that hard. If I had it to do it all over again, I would do a painless harness because they match the existing color wires where AAW doesn't.
  18. I bought a radio from a 75 Galaxie I think. It is like Miketyler said, it has the slider bar below the dial. I think I paid $50 for it in working order. I then sent it to Danno who is a member on here. He is our eletcronics guru on here. He put in a usb connector to charge an Ipod, a jack to plug in an Ipod a switch to select either radio or Ipod and a power antenna lead. Did a great job and I now can have vintage sounds that look like they are coming from the radio.
  19. I have a Mallory dual point dizzy that I put their electronic conversion kit in it. It is small like the oem one but has the look of the muscle car era.
  20. Do you have power steering? If so you may want to look into http://www.hydratechbraking.com/ It uses your powersteering pump to build up the pressure for power brakes. No vacuum to worry about. I was looking into this about 8 years ago for another car. They are pricey though. If I remember correctly, I thought I read somewhere that newer cars, perhaps Cadillac, BMW or something like that, had this or an electric boost. Can't remember. Do some research and maybe you can get what you need at a decent price.
  21. My Mach 1 was built in San Jose and it has the "pizza" cutout. The scoop has the crome grill in it. Not sure if there was something to block the air that would be behind the scoop grill but there is nothing there now. I always thought it was Fords attempt at some sort of factory ram air. I also have a 351w.
  22. RacerX, I'm 5'7" so I was thinking about doing something with the seat position also. What did you do and how did you do it?
