  1. This is not a motor forum. its a restore thing. sorry to interrupt.. sometimes I don't think right. will move to a better suited forum. Thank you Ray.
  2. Hoping to get a little more into it before I posted to much. I was never really good at math I will get it!!
  3. Just like lets make a wood wheel but with welding. I got the gift of a 1150 dominator with no intake to put it on. Why not make one? This thread my fall flat on its face if so? there is always delete.. 408C.....14-1.....780 lift....300+dur....looking for 7500 rpms
  4. I am a Cleveland Guy.......On my last motor build I did the math...... it was much cheaper to do a 351w for the same power (550) I like the idea of a clever. If I had the chance to buy a complete 70-73 4-v Cleveland what would I give???? Thinking a 40+ year old motor will have some issues that need to be attended to..as most do. not smoking is only a ring thing not a gauge to the rest of the motors usefulness.. 500.00-800.00 closed chambers would be a plus..
  5. I really am a coupe guy...1970 with a 1969 nose always liked the look. the 302 2v was a little slow.(1975)
  6. P1 I think your system is to new for this.. Had a booster fill up with break fluid at one time do to a bad MC It had that same feeling.
  7. At the risk of compering mine to yours for they are 2 different set ups but not really.. Down the road mine is 17-18lb 21lb if I let out at road speed --55mph I want a bigger cam....what I have I don't see it being to big for a 408 with rollers.. idles smooth with some lump to it (that shaker needs to shake) Runs good in town. I find it a bit tame. And yes it will burn the tires without asking.. Stops better than my minivan or f250 ford. they could be better..
  8. The first cam card is from my 408 street car... 12lb of vacuum I think the brakes work very well (front bumpers still there) Cam card NO.2 from the 408 mud truck. Never put a meter on it I'm thinking its very LOW..on vacuum.. My old booster worked a lot like P1s description of his new one.? That's why I put a new one on mine and life was good .. At 12lbs
  9. I have changed from locked EFI timing to normal dis..timing at lest 5 times. I gave up on EFI timing. And below 2000 rpms my carb always worked better.(changed 6 times) NOT to say you cant make it work but it will take time.
  10. Cant help you on a 1969(Mine is 1970) It was worth every penny I spent to go LED..on my car.. Its now FUN to drive at night....
  11. Putting in sub frame connecters is one of the best things I ever did for my car and me..(Tin man stile) My car is high mile and had rust issues in the past..
  12. The sale of my shop has been heavily slowed by the town... They just don't want a Buddhist temple that will not have to pay taxes (14000.00+) Town is hoping they will back out.(Not me) Put my car back inside where it should be!
  13. A little late on my reply to your photo of your car when you had more hair. My car was lime green when I got it that lasted 3 weeks and went to red and that lasted 1 year and went to moon dust silver as it is today.98000 miles later(178000 on the meter) Me at 16 in 1976 with my new ride......And my old ride in hugger orange... would like to have it back
  14. My wife has one side of the heated home garage and my Mom has the other side for her 1955 crown Victoria. NO room for me...
  15. My how things can change.... Sold my shop...no place to go until my new shop is built in the spring. the last time the car spent the winter outside was 1987..
  16. Air shocks do that... mine went right threw the floor......
  17. If the transmission is over full or oil foams yes it can go up the cable
  18. I have not had as much luck as most with the fitech unit....I am on throttle body NO.4 and controller NO.3 All with different issues.. NO.4 has a throttle plate hanging issue and this is with using a return spring unlike the last 3 where I didnt need one. I have to keep flicking the throttle or open the hood and push it back by hand.. This only happens with the motor running.. The car is put away for the winter so I will deal with it in the spring.... Good luck to the rest that are using it......
  19. I was thinking old school chain....Just do it in chrome....
  20. Ray likes pics. Show us what you have going this will make replying a lot simpler.
  21. Most of the wood ones I looked at were as pencil thin as the OEM wheels.. In 1960s or so this was normal But I never cared for it..Maybe that is why wheel wraps were so popular? (The death of most rim blow wheels) Size matters!! Now lets talk about horn buttons. (After a cold shower)
  22. Keep in mind if you have time you can make your own..Its been done...About 400 threads ago.... Round and firm with just the right size and feel....I need to leave now.......
