390mach1 49 Report post Posted October 14, 2013 This car is looking amazing! I really like the chrome painted black.
tazjonez 10 Report post Posted October 14, 2013 I really can't wait to see the hood with the hood scoop on and the front end completed. Should definitely look dark and mean!
Big Secz 26 Report post Posted October 14, 2013 A huge fan of this build. I'd love to do the all blacked out look on my Torino. BTW I had the kick panel speakers in my '70 vert and couldn't use the e-brake at all for what it's worth.
Angel 24 Report post Posted October 15, 2013 I was actually under the impression that only one single company makes the panels because they all look the same. I bought mine from mustangs plus back in 2008. I have 5 1/4" speakers in them. To clarify, they don't interfere with the motion of the e-brake pedal but I do have to angle my foot to keep from hitting the speaker IIRC. Reaching the dimmer is not a problem. I do wish they didn't have that tear drop shape since I don't have component speakers. I will admit, however, that the location is not ideal. Here's a link to what I have. http://www.mustangsplus.com/xcart/1969-70-Coupe-Fastback-Black-ABS-Plastic-Kick-Panels-w-Speaker-Pods.html
Angel 24 Report post Posted October 15, 2013 (edited) I do hope that you guys can come up with something better than what's currently offered though. Maybe make the pod smaller and able to only accommodate a 4" speaker. Awesome project! Edited October 15, 2013 by Angel
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted October 15, 2013 I ones I was designing were going to have a 6 1/2 inch speakers.
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted October 16, 2013 Our first headliner with the overhead console will be done tomorrow. I'll pick it up tomorrow to do a test fit, and finish making the roll bar. We were waiting on the headliner to finish making the roll bar just to make sure the roll bar cleared the console.

SWPruett 83 Report post Posted October 18, 2013 Nice and tidy look on that billet grill! Who's product is that? Also, is the front bumper tucked a bit closer to the body? looks very snug and clean. Nice look!
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted October 18, 2013 Picked up the first headliner today, very happy how it turned out. Now we have to make a carbon fiber insert to go in the overhead console.
FrozenMonkey 12 Report post Posted October 18, 2013 Damn that car just keeps looking better and better every post you make. Seeing these pics makes me wish MTF needed a coupe test mule. I'd gladly give up my car for a few months while they played around with fit and finish with some freebies in return.

It would be helpful if it was just a roller, that way we could put it on a rotisserie. And yes you would get free parts.
Patriotgamez 14 Report post Posted October 19, 2013 It's hard to tell in the pics...but did you have to move or modify the driver's side tie-down to sneak the exhaust by?
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted October 19, 2013 It's hard to tell in the pics...but did you have to move or modify the driver's side tie-down to sneak the exhaust by? No we didn't, but that's because we make the tie downs. Ours are flat rather than angled like the originals.
tazjonez 10 Report post Posted October 19, 2013 I can't remember where I bought the billet grill as it was so long ago. I think I got it off ebay??? Unless Rich remembers. I don't think the front bumper was modified. The windshield is finally in with black trim around it of course.
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted October 19, 2013 We should get the outer trim rings and the wiper blades back from power coating on Monday. Doing the wipers will be a serious pain LOL.

mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted October 20, 2013 Steve, here's a look at your headliner with out the lights and insert installed. This our first one manufactured hot off the press. It will be installed Monday so we can finish the roll bar. Once the roll bar is done we will pull the drop in headliner back out and install the carbon fiber insert that we are having made for it. Then we will be ready to reinstall permanently.
RPM 1,190 Report post Posted October 20, 2013 That's a nice looking headliner. About time somebody with skills made one. What's retail on it? Bob
mustangstofear 608 Report post Posted October 21, 2013 We should have pricing next week. We still have to make a mold for the ABS insert for the console, unless you go with the brushed aluminum.
