  1. The emblem was a snug fit. I want to be able to use my original Ford cap.
  2. Are you talking about the piece that is shown in the first pic that is under the back seat bottom or is it the piece in the second pic that the cut out in the piece in the first pic goes around. If it is the piece in the second pic that is the rear upper torque box.
  3. Her are 2 pics of my r/s door after removing the skin & rustproofing the inside & after replacing the skin.
  4. Thanks, I might just take you up on your offer as I will be doing it on the ground. Mike.
  5. Pakrat, Look at the first pic in post #3 by Must1969, the inside of my cap looks like that one except it doesnt have the 4 screws in the dished section mine is solid. I tried to grab the small cap in the center with a pliers & the whole assembley (spring & retainer) seem to turn. If you need a pic I will take one tomorrow & post it. Mike.
  6. The 69 & 70 Mustangs that I have had in the past were also painted charcoal on the grille opening trim.
  7. I ran into a problem with my first Mustang which was a 1970 250 6cyl & a C-4 auto & it would not start in park only neutral. I unplugged the NSS where it plugs into the underhood harness & bypassed the NSS using a jumper lead to test the rest of the system & it worked fine, I just do NOT recommend using it that way as it will start in any gear. Got a new switch & I was good to go.
  8. I replaced the l/s door shell with a dynacorn shell. The bottom of my old shell was like swiss cheese from the rot. I think it lines up pretty well to the rocker & quarter panels. I have not done a final align on the front fender so I dont know how it will line up there, but it looks like it should be ok. Hope that helps. Mike.
  9. The gas cap I have I had purchased to use on my 69 Coupe & had no emblem. I got an emblem & it came with 3 retainers except 2 of the pins or inside the spring & I cant get at them. Any ideas anyone?.
  10. JT, I have to do the l/s toe board, l/s floor pan, l/s seat riser, & l/s torque box on my 69 Coupe.
  11. Stangme428, I have been following your build & was wondering which brand & size radiator did you use?. Mike.
  12. I was removing some boxs of parts from the Coupe today & came across the flip down gas cap which I had purchased to use on my 69 Coupe. It is an original Ford part & I have heard that the new flip down caps come with a twist off cap that can go inside under the lid of the cap, is anyone using this & do you thing it is safe to use the original cap that has the spring loaded seal inside the lid to seal to the filler neck? I had the same cap on my old 68 GT Coupe & never had a problem with it. If you do not reccomend using it is there a way I can remove the spring & seal & just use a twist on cap under the flip down part. If it is reccomened to remove the spring loaded seal does anyone know how to remove the spring & seal?. TIA, Mike.
  13. I believe he is talking about the unit that went over the head lamp to properly the head lamps. They came with every new 69 Mustang.
  14. Nice work, but way to radical for me, besides they tore up what could have been a sweet looking Mach-1. They should have started with a Dynacorn body instaed of a vintage Mustang body.
  15. You could use a larger screw, or you could weld it closed & re-drill the hole.
  16. I have to do the drivers side torque box & toe board on my 69 Coupe which is my next job to do after the quarter skins are completed.
  17. 2)IIRC you do not have to modify the shifter hole in the trans tunnel for the T-5, 3) I have heard some guys saying when they swapped to a T-5 they did not have to shorten the drive shaft.
  18. Ouch, that hurts. Glad you are OK. Been there, done that unfortunately to a 68 GT Coupe I once owned. I was going over a bridge in the dark in traffic at about 50 MPH & came upon an idiot stopped on the bridge (he broke down) & didnt even have any lights on or any flares out & I hit him & tore up the front of car almost like that. Needed hood, r/s fender & extension, bumper, grille 1 fog light, all chrome trim, radiator support & r/s front inner fender panel. Good thing I did all the work myself & then got it completely re-painted & pin striped.
  19. Here is a pic of the Scott Drake tach from the CJ Pony Parts catalog without the Ford logo. Mike.
  20. This is in the CJ Pony Parts catalog for 67-69 Mustangs rear brake hose except 428 CJ & Boss 302, part #-BH-36603. Is that what you are looking for?.
  21. JT, The show was on Bay blvd in Seaside Heights from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. No it was a green 69 Mach-1. I have seen a red 69 Fastback around your area of Toms River. Next time I hear of a local show I will shoot you a PM. Mike.
  22. Thanks guys thats what I was thinking too.
  23. This car also had the standard black dash panels. I couldnt check any of the info on the car, it was in a show & I didnt want to mess with it.
  24. Went to a nice vintage car show at the Jersey shore today, say a bunch of really nice cars & old trucks, but I have a question about a 69 Mach-1 I saw there that was confusing me. When I looked inside the Mach it had no console & had the standard Mustang door panels. I thought all Mach-1's came with the molded door panelslike the ones pictured & also came with a console? I tried to look at the VIN# but it was covered up by the car show info sheet that all the cars had in the front windsheld & I did not want to start messing with the guys car to see the VIN#.
