  1. Thanks that helps, i can adjust for the difference between the inner fender and the fender edge
  2. When i installed my engine i used the Ron Morris mounts to move it back and towards the passenger side. Now I’m trying to mock up a ram air setup and would like to know how far the center of my engine/carb is from a stock 69 428CJ I took the following measurements Carb stud is approx 13.5” from the cowl - 20” from the inside of the passenger side of the engine compartment and 20.5” from the inside of the driver side of the engine compartment Would someone with a 428 be willing to take the same measurements so i can compare how my engine/carb sit relative to the 428? It would be interesting to know the measurements for a 351W too just for comparison sake. Thanks,
  3. I had a similar issue with the temp sensor that came with my FiTech - replaced with the Delphi and the readings have been perfect
  4. I did the MDL TKO 600 conversion several years ago and did not have any issues like this. It did come with the offset shifter to line up with the console, but otherwise everything lined up right. I have about 3 degrees of driveline angle. I added the Ron Morris adjustable motor mounts and moved the engine to the right for header clearance with the borgeson box, but that didn’t impact the transmission much I would check to see if you have your motor mounts swapped, they are side specific - the part that attached to the frame
  5. I’m running the borgeson box on a 351W based stoker. Used FPA headers and Ron Morris mounts to shift the engine to the passenger side for clearance. This was a few years ago, I believe that FPA has redesigned their headers to work with the Borgeson box, so the Ron Morris mounts would not be necessary. Suggest you give FPA a call first.
  6. If you want a solid, smooth handling ride you don’t want to over spring the car. That will just make it hard and jittery. Ride is mainly controlled by shocks. Put you money into a pair of bilstiens or double adjustable shocks.
  7. I’m not familiar with the Rancho adjustable shocks, but I can tell you that i recently swapped out KYB GR-2 shocks for Bilstiens and the ride went from harsh and busy to more pliant and planted. I thinks shocks have the greatest affect on ride quality over springs or tires. I’m running a 5 leaf spring with 275/40-17’s. Not sure if the cal tracks have any affect on ride.
  8. Yes, I did. Also last year I swapped it out for an aluminum one from SSBC with 1” bore. It looks just like the cast iron one that came off, but won’t rust! i also used a wilwood adjustable proportioning valve.
  9. My 408w with FPA headers was very tight. Used Ron Morris mounts to shift the engine over to the passenger side about .50”
  10. Vic, I have the same set up on my 69 cougar. I used the Mustang Steve cobra conversion and am running 2004 cobra brakes and a borgeson box. My 408w stroker only has 11” of vacuum at idle. Remember, when you are cruising or decelerating you will have a lot more than 11”. I see up to 22” on decel. The booster holds more vacuum than you need for one or two brake applications. I got a rebuilt Bendix booster from booster Dewey and a 15/16 MC and everything works great. Pedal effort is nice, seems close to stock and never feels like its out of vacuum. I had planned on using an electric vacuum pump, but haven’t found it necessary. One option you could consider is adding a supplemental vacuum tank under the fender with a three way check valve.
