Versailles 9" Disc parking brake
EastYorkStang replied to EastYorkStang's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
Just getting my '70 back out of storage and was wondering how to hook up the parking brake. I have a 9"out of a Versailles installed just not the parking brakes. Wagner cables F113204 are on it but not connected to the front pedal. What other cables should I get or what else can I do? Thanks -

anvil auto carbon fiber parts for 69-70 mustangs

Welcome.... I've been thinking of using your bumpers but I'm curious as to how they fit? Noticed they were tucked in on the sides but then again your sides (quarters) are flared out. My car has stock quarter panels. Darryl -
When I was changing my car to a road racer I installed a Detroit Locker Tru Trac rearend. So far so good going on three years noa nd no problems. Knock on wood....

Maximum rubber......girl gets some new shoes
EastYorkStang replied to buening's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
Nice shoes. I have 3"studs on my rear axles and use open ended lug nuts. McGard sells them as well as open locking nuts. Go with poly bushings everywhere as this will tighten it up a lot. Beware though the longer you push the wheel out, the studs are what is supporting the weight. Don't scrimp on the studs! -

Need Pics. 69/70 Fastbacks, Magnums, T/A's
EastYorkStang replied to BuckeyeDemon's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
I have 17X8's on my car with 235 and 255's. The magnums came from Specialty and although I am happy with the design, the workmanship is crap. Started rusting weeks after I got them. To their credit Specialty gave me a another pair to replace the worst ones but they are rusty now as well. And yes I did talk to them regarding caring for them. Darryl -

What rpm are you going to run? That will help along with tire diameter. -
Any word Adam on what you are doing?

Roll Bars/Gages/subframe connectors
EastYorkStang replied to EastYorkStang's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
Thanks for that Pak. Read through it and got some more ideas. I'm working on a '79 Zephyr Boxtop as well and was thinking about doing the subframe connectors on that as well! Hopefully he will chime in with an update?! -
On my '70 I am thinking about redoing the subframe connectors to actually go through tthe floor. Along with stringers to the rockers. Has anyone done this? I have connectors that are under the car but I have to fix the floor and thought about installing a Roll bar to stiffen up the car as well. Are there Roll Bars out there that are good? Thanks

69/70 Mustang 2" drop Rear Leaf Springs
EastYorkStang replied to gregs's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
I have reversed eye lowered springs. I had them made for the car with thicker springs. Then I utilized 3" blocks to get it to sit just right. Never had wheel hop. Tucks the wheel up quite nicely! -
Water Wetter work wonders! Used it in my '70 and it must have dropped 10-20 degrees...
-
I looked into another set for my '70 but was deterred by the price. I went with HID's instead.

I have a '79 Zephyr if that counts. Putting in the driveline from an '89 5.0L to make it more interesting...

do i have to change valve covers to go roller
EastYorkStang replied to specialfinds's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
I have rollers as well under my stock covers. I used two cork gaskets for the additional clearance. -
Great point! I change the oil in the spring after I bring the car out of storage. No problems yet! I don't think I've driven it 5k in a single year...

I took the column apart and found this switch with the rod in it. Loosened it and tried to adjust but didn't solve the problem. Yes, the key does swing back. But I don't have a radio to try that out. Any other ways of checking i? If I replace the switch is it the actual key part or the whole rod/key/contacts?
