  1. will be getting my 69 done soon. been ten yrs sitting.. little specs. 351w stroker to 402. 550 hp with 535 torque.. 460 ft lbs @2800 so this motor is going to run.. c-4 full roller manual reverse.10'' jpt converter and trans. 3.89 true trac rear. now exhaust? FPT 1 \3/4 headers with x pipe into 2.5 tubes.. has 2 chamber now but not sure if I want them on again.. did sound good with the older combo.. now that I have more power what are you guys running for street car? so many now since I last drove this car in 2005? any help will help 2.5 or 3'' which muffler? best flowing no drone? thanks..

  4. make sure you line it up? mine was cracked and the front end was way off. had big block towers installed yrs ago because of this.. check all measurements..
  5. thanks. i like my set up now.. those 3.89s with the tall tire shouldnt be to bad if i drive on the highway once in a blue moon but most likely just around town back rds etc. i rather have a quick off the line car with torque then going 100 mph anyway. i built it for torque..

  7. well since 2005 my 69 mach1 has been sitting. jackstands in my garage basement.. i have posted on here but its been a long time.. ill get right to the point.. 69 mach1 engine was done a few yrs ago. 402w. 565 hp 530 torque.. specs later. i run a full manual c4 from jim p.. now retired.. full manual roller trans with his 10" converter.. running 3.89 with 275-60-15 out back. all the good stuff caltracs, ranchos etc.. getting a guy to come over to put it all back together.. he asked me on the phone what my main intentions were for the car. street strip? i said mostly street, i never raced my car at the track. he suggested a overdrive maybe aod or gear vendors? then ill have to sell my c4 and converter if i change over.. car sucks on highways. with this new motor ill never see past 50mph.. here in nj ill get slammed.. so should i build it for just street duty around town car shows etc or take the plunge and get aod? car will be a beast if i leave it alone but what if i want to drive hway? not good.. i need to get it back on the rd. needs all new brakes. fuel cell. took old tank out.. new lines. etc.. going to cost me dearly.. but worth it.also new exhaust with my new powertrain headers.. x pipe.. flows or mag?flow? hate drone.. too old to be hearing it on weekends lol..i was 10 yrs younger when last drove it..thanks.. more info if you need it..
  8. looking to get my 69 mach1 back on the road this yr. front brakes are off the car now. thinking some aftermarket brakes that fit standard spindles. maybe a step up from factory discs.. any good ideas? so many now. or i might just go OEM and keep it stock. 565 hp with 530 ft lbs..

  10. thinking if my car doesnt get on the road this yr i might try to add some more ponies to my 402w. almost 565HP but i like the sound of 600HP better??. just wondering if thats way to much for a street driven car?. i would love to say i have 600 hp under that hood... i just dont want the power band to go up any higher since ill never see the high side of 6000 rpms around where i live... oh well. keep dreaming..
  11. i had one yrs ago on my 69 mach1 before the vic jr. it fit with a drop base air cleaner. i think the nut was hitting the hood.

  13. man this bring back memories when i first got my 69 mach1 back in 1979. big ass tire out back that rubbed every bump... i put air shocks in that thing too.. lol. N-60s i believe i had out back or L-60s... 80s look. have pics somewhere..
