Convertible69 17 Report post Posted July 24, 2016 Does anyone else have a rectangular clock in their 69'? I see in 69' Mach 1 the clock is round, but I have a convertible, & so far I haven't seen another clock like this in another 69'. Just curious if it was a special option? 2 winifredng69 and MelissaEa reacted to this
Brian Conway 264 Report post Posted July 24, 2016 From my ' Mustang Recognition Guide ' pg. 148 ' With the standard or Decor Interior,( non-Deluxe), the clock is rectangular." Brian
69RavenConv 286 Report post Posted July 24, 2016 Clocks were optional equipment, about 1/3 of the '69's built got one. You've got the clock for the standard interior. Deluxe interiors got the round rally clock. The standard clock isn't as common as the rally clock but it isn't terribly rare either
69volunteer 84 Report post Posted July 25, 2016 I've got the rectangular clock as well. They just started re-producing the plastic lens--I actually took mine out for a while because it was so yellowed. Unfortunately, I haven't found a quartz conversion kit or dug into making it work again. I see tons of 69-70 mustangs at car shows and haven't seen another rectangular one. Convertible69 17 Report post Posted July 26, 2016 Good info....I'm curious to see how many were installed in Convertibles. Sometime soon I'll be sending for a complete Martin report.
Mike65 475 Report post Posted July 26, 2016 I had purchased one I was going to use in my Coupe, but sold it a few years ago.
Max Power 74 Report post Posted July 26, 2016 I have seen them here and there. Usually people who were ordering cars with the standard interiors were not ordering things like clocks, but you still see them from time to time. I have probably seen them more on Boss cars, which rarely have deluxe interiors but are an ungraded car, than any other types.
