Fantastic 57 Report post Posted September 20, 2015 I have a 9 inch 28 spline axle. It is not posi, but it is in like new condition. My friend has a 31 spline posi for sale for about $50. I figure getting that and redoing everything would put me into if for a few hundred. Alternately, I can pay about $450 and drop in a Youkon Gear pot and have the posi. Or, I can just leave it and be happy with what I have... Decisions decisions...

RPM 1,190 Report post Posted September 21, 2015 Yep, grab it. I picked up an N case 31 spline traction lok a year ago for $325 when I had no immediate plans just because it was a good deal.
Wycked69 20 Report post Posted September 21, 2015 I'm guilty of buying stuff not because I need it (usually I do) but because its a good deal.
lanky 44 Report post Posted September 21, 2015 I'll take that posi off his hands for $50 :) I think many of us fall into the habit of buying cool stuff that we may not need right away...
1969_Mach1 333 Report post Posted September 21, 2015 For that price I would buy the posi. New clutches and springs are inexpensive for them to rebuild it. Later, when you can, rebuild your rear axle and install it. Get a pair of 31 spline axles from someone like Moser Engineering. Worse case if you don't use it is you can easily sell it for more than what you paid.
Rsmach1 71 Report post Posted September 21, 2015 I would also snatch it up, and I'll up the current bid to 75 lol.
