  1. Check out Joe Gibbs Driven oil. Best oil I've used.
  2. Got the hood on today. First time in 4 years that the car has had all it's sheetmetal on it. Got a NOS quarter extension panel today. Fitment wasn't as good as my original which is like the LH panel. It's a little bit better than the repro, but not by much. It did fit a lot better on the duck tail area. My repro had to be bondo'd to get the right shape.
  3. Remember, if you install a '70 steering column, you need the '70 (deluxe) instrument cluster too. The '70 has a notch in the woodgrain for the bigger '70 column, the '69 does not. I think the standard cluster is the same for '69-'70. Edit: IIRC, the bottom shaft of the column slides out, so you can get a replacement for that part only. I modified my column for the TCP rack'n pinion.
  4. Any progress lately? I'm diggin' your build!
  5. About the Dynacorn front valence. Needs a little bit of work to fit perfectly. Had to use a file to make room for the fasteners on the marker lights on both sides. They were a little tight.
  6. I first used an old paint shop heat lamp to warm the undercoating, and scrape it off. It came off easily once warmed up. Leftovers I soaked in petrolium based degreaser, and washed off with an rug. I then used a steamer to wash the underside completly clean, removing any remains of the undercoating. That left me with a clean underside, with the original paint intact. It is almost burned to the metal, and is the best fundation you can have on the metal. It won't ever let go if it has stuck to the car for 47 years already.
  7. National Parts Depot - https://www.npdlink.com/store/products/mustang_shield_radiator_to_grille_upper-147093-2908.html They have them in clear anodized aluminium and polished finish too.
  8. Test fitted some trim today. Corvex mouldings is POS. Don't waste your money on it. I don't know why CJ Pony Parts even sell this shit. The inner trim was ok. Radiator support/grille shield looks to fit nice. The Pony is back on!
  9. I don't know. But the black out trim on the louvre cars is the only thing I can think of that might be a "Trim variation". It really could be anything.
  10. I would like to point out that I had a collision repair shop to do it. They have all the right tools and equipment. I like to say I got enough knowledge about cars in general to know when I should seek help, and not try to repair stuff myself. I would have used 3x the time, and gotten a 3x worse result if I had done it myself ;)
  11. The only variation I can think of is that Boss 302s had black rear window trim if they had louvres.
  12. Front spoiler is on. Looks right, it really changes the attitude of the car. Tried to modify the front bumper. It's garbage. It bends way to easy, just soft steel. Need to buy originals.
  13. This is my car getting the whole front replaced. Notice how the car is set in a jig, before welding. I don't have my 1969 chassis book here at home, but I found this on google.
  14. So the vent is the valve. Come to think about it, you don't need a '70 to find the placement of the vent.
  15. Alan_Mac: I did sit a tiny bit higher, but not so much that I need to cut up the floor I think. I'll try it like it is. If it doesn't work, I can always modify it later. I had good room between the seat cushion and steering wheel rim, so moving in and out of the car won't be a problem. Front valence and stoneguard mounted for the first time. These are Dynacorn parts, but they fit well. My Taiwan front bumper didn't fit at all. It's a lot wider, ca 1-1/2 inch on both sides. So it's gonna be cut up, but I had expected that. My car has never had an OEM bumper, do they fit snugly? Should I invest in one, instead of putting time and money into getting the Taiwan bumper to fit? The Dynacorn bumper brackets need to be tweaked at the bumper end. Here you can see that they aren't horizontal at the bumper mount surface.
  16. Cool stuff. Never knew that. But where's the pressure-relief valve located?
  17. I had my oil cooler just to the right of the hood latch support. It was looped into the radiator transmission cooler too, so my FMX basicly had 2 coolers. The fan was switch operated. Will be going with a T-56 Magnum on the rebuild.
  18. I always thought the '70 B-pillar vent was there to prevent rust in that area. The vent would be on the other side of the door gasket, so I don't see how it will relive pressure in the cabin?
  19. Doors on, fenders on. Not fully alligned yet. Just mock up to see how much work the bumpers need.
  20. Success! Thanks for showing the way, Ridge Runner. Move along people, nut'n to see here.
  21. Thanks for the answers! I'll give it a try!
  22. I tried to put the ears up in the hole, but I don't see how it's done. :S
  23. This square nut is going into that rectangle hole. Anybody knows how it fits? This is the rear nut on the bottom of the rocker panel for the front fender. It has two ears on it, but I got my fingers in the way.
  24. This is my driver door, that I belive to be a '70 door. The holes are there, but it appears no screws has ever been thru them. Can the weatherstrip be a part of a cold-weather package or similar?
