  1. It took many hours to get the A4 driver's seat installed. Several factors cause a PIMA (pain in my ass). The seat is a bit wider than the stock one, all of the rails and adjustments are outboard of the seat edge, I added convertible inner rockers and the one piece conv seat riser hump over the trans tunnel. The lower the seat goes, the narrower the space to fit the seat gets. Getting the seat level took a while for some reason. Probably installed and removed the seat 25 times in all. Other than that, pretty simple conversion. The seat will be in a fixed fore/aft position because it would sit to high for my 6' 3" height. I will use the power seat back adjuster and heated seats. I have no problem with the front/back adjustment as I'm done growing, and it's my car :) Hopefully the passenger seat will go a bit quicker. New (To me) Mach 1

We'll need some pics to confirm no rust. An Illinois car without rust? Do they mean rust thru? Welcome to the site. Bob
  3. Nice car to start with ducfast. So did you ever contact Laurel Mountain? Bob
  4. Sounds like a very cool build. Nothing better looking than a Boss 9. Hard to believe those are the same fenders! Amazing work. Good luck with your build. Bob
  5. Welcome to the site duc! Come on man, are those the only pics you got??? :) How bout some of the body and the repairs you've done? Is Laurel Mountain going to make it right? The good news is that you weren't driving the car. Bob
  6. In case you don't know, 67-69 are the same. 67's have a C6 number. Where are you located white 69? Bob
  7. My brother's 69 R code 428 scj drag pack came with manual drums. Bob
  8. 350hp and 445tq is nothing to be ashamed of. M codes with 4v carb made 290 stock. Mine hauled ass before teardown. Bob
  9. Then make your own brackets for the disc spindle. I made them for mine till I switched to the 70 drum spindle. Bob
  10. The condition will speak volumes. Unless it has been sitting outside, the interior would not be in bad condition. When I bought my 69 in 1989 it showed 57k miles. But the interior condition showed 157k. I did not expect or think it had 57k. Bob
  11. If you're going to have to buy drum spindles for your conversion, get the 70's. The spindle shaft is larger than the 69 and earlier. They use different bearings, but the same hub you now have. Bob
  12. Nice work. You definitely da man! Bob
  13. Stroke that 429 to 557! Use alum intake and heads to get your 100 lbs back. Me, I'd build a nice 428. It belongs there. My cousin offered to sell me his 427 for my mach one, I passed. Bob
  14. Gonna use the stock panels after doing some repairs to them. There will be an about 2" hole in the flat horizontal section of the panel for the hoop. To get the bar in there I will cut a verticle slit from the hole up. To cover the slit I will use a narrow piece of flexible trim molding. If I don't like the look, I'll bond it together and use a spray on textured finish like Duplicolor bed liner. Since my stock panels need repairing, they need a textured spray finish anyway. Figured I've nothing to lose. Edit: Because I won't be using the (very heavy) rear seat, I've decided to not use the quarter interior trim panels. I'll make some flat panels instead. Bob
  15. Hmm... those spindles look like my old 69 disc. I gave them to my brother, so I'm not able to inspect them. Those rotors look HUGE. I've got no idea. Bob
  16. If nothing else you need to get the part number from The inner side of the upright of the spindle. A pic would be grand. Like this Bob
  17. I suppose being an old timer is relative. I used to think they were guys older than me. I didn't think I was one until I welded in a roll bar this past week, and felt like I had been thrown out of a pickup, on the freeway, doing 80. And I do know how that feels :( Bob
  18. I'm lost, as most already know. Which vent hole are you talking about? The hole in the cowl top(1-3/4" to fw), or the side vertical panel (2-1/2" to fw)? Both measurements are from forward verticle edge of hole to the edge of firewall that is welded to the cowl. Welcome to the site. Tell us about your 69 and where you call home. Bob
  19. ¿Cuánto dinero por favor? Sorry, forgot you're not in California. How much, please :) and pics? Bob
  20. Welcome back! But I gotta call bs. "I bought this car in 1988, when I was 15". I'm no math major, but that doesn't make you an old-timer :) I bought mine in 1989 when I was 33. That my friend, does make ME an old timer. Good luck on your Stang. Oh btw, if you don't know, Roush Performance on eBay has killer deals on take off calipers and rotors. Bob
  21. My Midland has it stamped on it. Bob
  22. Since you'll have the fender aprons and export brace for alignment, I think you'll be fine. If your car is anything like mine, the repairs are much better than the factory. I've yet to find any symmetrical measurements. I do love my car, just saying my Friday built car is way off with respect to a freaking tape measure. Bob
  23. My understanding is that 69's came with Bendix or Midland boosters. My 69 was built on January 17th, 1969 in San Jose, Ca. Bob
  24. That crossed my mind Kris and Buckeye when I was first looking at them. But I couldn't picture how the grill molding would fit. Thanks guys! Bob
