  1. Alright thanks for the info guys. I went ahead and just ordered some torino bolt in ball joints. I'm gonna give it a shot for now. That seems to be the cheapest and easiest for now. Its pretty much just gonna be a car to just drive. I don't plan on racing or going through the mountains on two wheels or anything. Ill just go with it for now. Finding old mustang parts around here isn't easy or cheap. Ill fix it all correctly later
  2. Alright I will agree. I finally found some pictures one of 72 Torino and one of 74 Torino and im pretty sure that's what I have. So my next question is can I use those spindles since the 69 lower ball joints are made into the Lca? Could I drill out the rivets and mount torino lower ball joints in it maybe?
  3. What did you search? I spent an hour searching every number on there and didn't get any hits I appreciate the help guys. I figured it had to be something not mustang related. I've tried looking at spindles for 60s-70s mustang, cougar, Granada, some Torinos, Fairmont, futura, pinto, thunderbird, f100, ranchero and probably more. I'm probably just gonna end up buying 71-73 spindles. And yes the discs are huge which I why I was thinking Granada because everyone kept saying how they had better brakes
  4. heres some. sorry spindle is still on the car. this is the best i have right now
  5. I've got pics but it says they are too big to load. The 4a7aa IS the numbers on the in side. And right next to it is a ford stamp. Im clueless
  6. So I have my 69 mach 1. Disc brakes up front. This car was built as a "drag car" and has been bodged together and now I'm trying to figure it out. When I got it the tire rod ends were sloppy as can be. So I ordered some tie rod ends for a 71-73 mustang and they seem to fit. Now I'm realizing the I'm having the same issue with the lower ball joints. Like the hole is too big for the ball joint. The spindle sat so low on the ball joint the it has eaten the top of the ball joint. I have looked at ALOT of pics of spindles and cannot figure out what they came from. They look very similar to Granada style spindles but the 70-73 mustang and Granadas all take this ball joint. The only thing about my spindle is if you look at the triangle that the 3 bolts for the dust cover make, my 3 are top forward, right at the tie rod arm, and directly below the ball joint. And I can't find any spindles that have that pattern. The arm that goes up to the upper ball joint looks beefy like the Granada style except the Granada style has a slight jog to the rear and mine goes straight up. I see ford stamped everywhere on the parts but the only numbers I can find are 4A7AA 859 and 4A8AA 859. anybody have any ideas? The upper ball joint appears to fit correctly but it could have been changed when whoever knew what they were putting in
  7. Thats what I was afraid of. Ive got it cut back so far that I actually have holes for the sides of the uca to stick through. I think im just going to have to get the motor first and go from there.
  8. Ya i look at ride safely a lot. Ive actually had my eye on the one with the manual because i am only putting a manual in it. But anyways my main concern is if the 5.0 will fit in the way I have my towers cut now. If someone with experience could take a look at my pics to see the room I have around my 460 and give me an opinion. Because I really dont want to buy a several thousand dollar front end suspension. Ill just fab up a crossmember when I get the motor but my towers are cut about as much as I can. I do have coilovers.
  9. Ive got a few inches on each side of the valve covers so I might be able to squeeze it in. And ps. Just fyi I disowned a friend for putting an ls in a 94 gt. Please dont do it to a 69. You will be hated by so many.
  10. I was figuring now that the 5.0 has been out for a bit id try to find a totaled car so id have motor tranny all wiring and anything else id need or want
  11. All right so heres the deal. Ive got a 69 that is currently a drag car but i dont want it to be a drag car anymore. I am planning on turning it into a restomod/pro touring style car. Something more fun to play with. I have been planning on hopping up a 390 to put in it but now im thinking the coyote considering its success and stock power. My question is how hard will it be to install? Ive already got cut shock towers for my stroked 460. If a 460 will fit will it be wide enough for the 5.0? How hard will it be to fab up I crossmember to mount the motor? I dont have any mounting sytem now I have a solid motor plate up front. Any advice?
  12. Cool. Thanks for the info guys. That gives me a good place to start.
  13. Ok. I was trying to find these composite springs. I found hyperco and flex-form. Flexform wanted me to order them and hyperco only mentioned chrysler and chevrolet so ill have to call one of them later. I also found from mustangs plus custom (steel) springs that I can made to order. 4, 4.5 and 5 leaf sets with std hole location, 1" and 2" drop. Can anyone help me out on whos good to talk to for the composite springs?
  14. And if I cant get the lower I want from just the shackles is there any acceptable amount I can block the axle(1"? 2"?) or do I pretty much want avoid that at all costs. Other than for just looks.
