Why they picked a Mustang look and put a GM motor in it is freakin stupid. They should have just gone the Camaro look. Why they do this cross breading makes no sense to me. I have no appreciating for it. Wasted effort. JMO......

I had a ivy green interior 69 car some years ago and the carpet was dark like your door panel carpet. it was probably a bit darker than the door panel carpet, but that could lighting and the camera.

The rubber grommet in those first pictures are a from a cougar. The picture Brian posted is correct, but!!! They had two, one long, one a bit shorter. The steering column in a fast back uses (originally) an extra two aluminum block spacers to lower the steering column. coupes did not use them. The seat pan is shorter on a fastback and also the laid back roof line. You can take out the extra two spacers and raise the column if you want to change the position in a fastback.

Did they tell you it was Ford tooling? I know the guy who is going to be releasing the Ford tooling hood moldings and he told me a few months ago they were not ready. I know of a number of guys who tried to use the available POS and had to go find original.

I'm stuck getting Sail Panels installed
Armond replied to prayers1's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
On the original panels they have flat spot in the opening for the lamp. If you have the old ones that will help you get it pointed in the right position. I hope you are going to install your headliner first and your just test fitting! -
They went away with those and changed the stamp mold, raising the area up, deleting the need for them. At what time of production I have no idea.

Cool to see your car in a very disturbing video. Maybe I am just getting old!

the two out side inner moldings, the ones painted Argent, are held in place by two small plastic push nuts originally. At the top there is a stainless screw. Note in picture. The thin outside moldings are then put in place. This should all be done with the headlight buckets off the fenders, not yet mounted. It is so much easier and is how they did it. The center wide Argent painted molding is then put into place. It sits on top of the gravel shield. it is held in place with the thin long molding and stainless screws at the back. At the back corners they used a stud and nut. Note in the pictures. The stud is just like a typical clip you find on a Ford. it is like the rear valance stud without the steel clip. Hopefully the pictures will help.

The rocker trim was available on the GT. It was part of another package that could be added. I'd leave it on.

Calling All You Old Guys (Another Picture Thread)
Armond replied to Thunderscrash's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
This is a far as I went on tires and wheels. I still run the same set up on my driver. This picture was taken by a fellow MP and he later gave me the picture surprising me. This was about 1981 at FT Lewis Wa where I was stationed for a few years. I built the car from a total my dad towed in. It took me a year to rebuild after school etc. The great thing about those days were I bought everything from Ford. I drove it from 1977 to 1982 and sold it like an idiot! I regretted it from the moment I handed the keys over. yes it was just a coupe, but it was my first car. -

I am looking for two of the very hard to find RSC bolts. Big washer hood mounting bolts. I didn't get two back after I had some plating done. Fortunately just two came up missing. Pictures shows what I need. I have seen them also on some 69 fairlane/torino's. Any help appreciated. Please email me at dagostini61@hotmail.com Thanks! Armond
