  1. Here's an old thread you can reference, this should do the trick. http://1969stang.com/forum/index.php?/topic/47174-headlight-bucket-repair/ You can also call up a thread we have about pot metal repair which is what this part is made of, it calls for welding with aluminum rod, not as DIY for everyone but an option for some.
  2. How did you ever make out with this?
  3. That's exactly what I am going with on the front except I was going to use 4.5bs, any issues with the extra .25? Out back I am going with the 9.5" wheel 5.75bs and 275/40/17's, with directional tires I won't need to rotate. I am also adding custom redlines to the sidewalls for the classic Hot-wheels look.
  4. OK good advice thanks. How about Reserves, yeah or nay? No one else has any tips eh? Have I under estimated how many e-bay users we have here or is everyone guarding their secrets tightly?
  5. About 10 years or so ago when my car got totaled I opened an e-bay account and never ended up buying or selling a thing. As I start to clean out the house over the next few weeks I have a lot of stuff I would like to get rid of as does my wife, she has lots of very expensive shoes, purses and such from her professional career that she will never use again being disabled now. I would really like some useful info if anyone cares to share. Treat me like I'm 5 as I honestly am clueless what to do, the only thing I know is people don't like newbies with 0 feedback but how the heck do you get it if you don't start somewhere.
  6. I don't know if I would call myself a guru but I know my way around and after tomorrow I'll have more than a little free time on my hands so I can play around with some ideas. Got any ideas Ben or banners from other sites you've seen and like the look of? I used to like the one on the old main page that transitioned thru 4 or 5 different pic's.
  7. Car looks great! I personally can't wait to put my 17" Aluminum AR500's on this spring, best of old and new IMHO.
  8. Isn't "Boss V2" one of the sets of markings on the underside of the original hood scoop? I find it odd he would add that to the name unless he saw it on his car somewhere. Sometimes I think there are more people with little to no knowledge about Mustangs except that they want one than there are actual enthusiasts who need to learn everything they can prior to or during ownership.
  9. Wait a second buddy, what's all this aboot? You Canadians and your floppy heads, always complaining about something! (J/K) Though I haven't had to buy parts in a while I have tried them all and Virginia Classic Mustang was always one of my favorites or go to's. I use to price my whole order out everywhere and give it to the lowest total or split my orders up if something was a real good deal at one place but decided rather quickly that CJ was difficult and not always timely. Although I never got a chance to use them for a lot of stuff I will say to date that the best service I ever got though was from John's Mustang in TX, the little guy who takes care of the littler guys.
  10. My brother lives in Raleigh, if I get a chance to go out and see him this summer I'll try to swing by and help him messy things up a tad! :)
  11. Whatever changes/updates were made to the Spam filters seems to be working, I haven't received a single report in weeks now!
  12. Hmmm, for that matter a cougar or any previous year Mustang Coupe could probably work as well so long as you are modding the opening anyway. Might be worth trying to hit a ford show and measure some cars and collect some data Lil John for the best/easiest option.
  13. What is it with everyone from Alte? Time for me to try out the new warning points system!
  14. Amen brother, Amen! Though I can't say as a salaried employee that I have been upset my work has had to close at least 4 times now and had just as many 2 hour delay openings as well, especially with my 80 mile one way commute. I have no issues with waking up in the morning to realize that my day will consist of going back to bed, an hour+ of snow removal, watching the price is right with my daughter over lunch and then go sledding for the afternoon followed by cups of cocoa in front of the fire place, especially when it turns what would have been a typical Monday into a 3 day weekend! As for the flaps, I think the ones you posted are a decent option, no drilling and easy to remove seem like the ticket if it is a must have. This isn't the worst look I have seen on a Mustang.
  15. I don't have that Jeep anymore but I was looking for a picture to post as an example and stumbled across a company called JDM that makes all kinds of aftermarket things like this for the import crowd, look how tiny and stealthy this one is, there when you need it otherwise invisible.
  16. What would really be trick if you had the room to squeeze it in would be a set of pop out cup holders. The rear of my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee had a cool set up, space wise it takes up about 3/4" high by 5" wide, when you push in it pops out and then has a bottom section that springs down like 2"-3".
  17. Dimensionally might be the same or pretty close if you cut the studs off and epoxy in place. I know the gas cap emblems have 3 studs but I believe the door panels only have 2.
  18. Just thinking out of the box here as I have never taken apart the back window on a sportsroof but given that you would be modifying the surrounding metal area of the car anyway I wonder how hard it would be to modify and use that? It is full stainless I believe and I can't imagine that it has any less than 4 pieces to it so cutting and re-piecing back together seems feasible.
  19. So while on the subject here's a question I always had, were flappers that opened to let cooler air in at WOT more about gimmick or was there little to no or even negative effect at cruising speeds? I would think cooler air would always be welcomed but some flapper systems are rather complicated if they do nothing other than keep the elements out at anything but WOT.
  20. I know Larry's T-Bird and Mustang sells the pop open gas cap with no emblems so I would have to think they sell the emblems separately.
  21. Don't know how I missed your original post but welcome. Always great to see another one saved, I'm surprised if it's been in CA all it's life that it has that much rust but I guess any car left out to the elements will rot out shy of the desert. Hopefully you get a Marti report and it gives some insight to the non exported export thingy, that could have a cool story behind it.
  22. C'mon Ridge it's easy, well, if you aren't fussy on appearance I guess.
  23. Can't wait to see it finished and installed. If my trials this spring to fit front Fiero seats in the rear works out I'll probably be using this page and it's links as a reference to make a full front to back console setup.
  24. You made me curious so I had to look it up, this was the only clean shot I found. You can barely see some light in the back of the scoop but appears to be cut right to the scoop studs.
