Best to start young (at heart), before retirement.
And no, my roof was fixed quite some time ago.  Like you (Barnett), others have questioned what's upstairs.  I can positively state that it is mostly empty space...

Got the under side of the car all cleaned and finished then put the car back down on jack stands. I media blasted the whole bottom then seam sealed everything, coated with POR15, lightly sanded per directions then primed and under coated. I also blasted my lower dash and axle. Converted my non AC dash to AC and repainted. Disassembled the entire rear end, cleaned throughly and repainted the exterior. I blasted multiple small parts and pieces and powder coated them for durability. I’m converting my rear end to limited slip with 3.55 gears. Now that the rear end is cleaned and ready to reassemble I hope to be done with it next weekend and put it back on the car. I am waiting on a few small parts to come in though that may not be here in time for that.

Took the upper cowl off yesterday. Spent today making repairs and getting it all cleaned up and ready to go back together tomorrow.

New floors installed and my son being my helper drilling out the rear seat back spot welds to work on the axle tunnel. I didn’t get any pictures of the repairs made to the tunnel but have some with the seat back pulled out and reinstalled. Replaced the taillight panel also.

I've been on this site for a long time and haven't made a build progress page so I figured it was about time I got around to doing it. My car has been off the road since 1975 and was stored inside an upholstery shop since the early 80's. I attached a picture of what it looked like when I first rolled it out of the building, it has 53,000 original miles. I've had the car since 2010 but progress was slow due to moving from Texas to Oklahoma. I had to put the car in storage for a yr and a half after I moved until we bought a new house so I had somewhere to put it. After that I got busy working on the house and building a shop so I had a place to work on my car. Now that most of my non car projects are completed I have been back working on the 69 trying to get the body work finished up so I can get it back on the road. Nearly all the parts that on the car have been rebuilt and are ready to install. I still have a little body work to do but can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Today was a productive day, I installed the shortened Explorer aluminum driveshaft, made the fuel filter bracket, & started working on the drivers side sub frame connector.

    Bob,
Yes, I still have times where I miss that car. I had it set up really well and being that is was a plain Jane 302 fastback I didn't mind mods to it. Also, I still find myself thinking I have a tool that was lost in the fire.
I did buy this with the insurance Money from the car.

As the picture shows, it was from Florida. NY does not have palm trees. It was from a collector that passed away. It was a really nice car, but it never really felt like it was mine since it was already restored. Plus, the motor must have had 11:1 or more compression since it would ping even with the best gas I could find. The estate guy told me they ran 100 octane in it. So.... I sold it about two months ago. I am not kidding when I say it took only 20 minutes to sell it on Craigslist. I couldn't believe it.
Ended up getting this about a month ago.

67 GT Cougar. Early production car. Got it from an original family out of Colorado. It is probably the most original Mustang/Cougar I have ever owned. XR-7's hadn't come out yet but the guys aunt put about every other option in it. It even has a working tilt away wheel. I've been really enjoying this car, nothing feels like a big block car.

The customer  furnished us with the  overhead console,  but it didn't  have a switch to  work the lights.  We made our normal map light switch  work  just fine.

Have several "small" projects I've been trying to get to.  One of them is to install some speaker in my rear seat side panels. Since the ashtrays are a legacy item for me anyway, so I sized up some Pyle speakers that are compatible with my audio system setup and found some grills on Ebay. Had some 3/8" birch plywood laying around from my trunk project, so got my Roto-Zip and off to work I went.    The metal piece is something I sourced at the local Lowes hardware store in the electrical section.  The diameter is almost exactly the same as the speaker....
I also use "elevator bolts" since the tops of those are very thin.  The whole plastic piece will be covered in thin insulation and vinyl  anyway..

Finished getting all the brackets drilled out and reinforced. Installed everything back on the car and tack welded the support bracket to the tail pipe reinforcement. It was welded in place on both sides then spruced up with a little red scotch-brite. I installed everything one more time and true to form, things shrink when you weld it. The tip sits about 1/4" too high so I'll have to do some adjustments to get it where I want it. I am pleased at how firm the two isolators hold everything in place. Fingers crossed for no rattles.
With the little issues just about done on the extremely tight drivers side, I'm gonna enjoy a little more freedom on the passenger side.

I was able to get the drive's side adjusted to where I liked it.
A little slotting of the upper bracket and all is well.

I got started on the passenger side and made good progress today. With the pan-hard bar all in the way I couldn't fit the sections without chopping and re-welding the supplied tail pipe. It wouldn't have fit anyway as it was meant to exit under the valance. A little chopping some fitting and tacking we have the second side.

Which also receive it's fair share of red scotch-brite cleaning.

Sticking everything back under the car it looks like it should work.

I have to remake the upper bracket on this side due to the different routing, such is life. With everything self supporting I took a picture laying on the floor looking up.

It's getting there. Least all the major components are in place, just need a few more brackets and some flanging on the valance.
