What did you do to/for your Mustang today?

The clear is not actually that expensive to put more coats on. Once they have it loaded in the paint booth, the dry time is short, so they can do several coats pretty quickly.  

I have 5 coats of clear on my hood, and 3 coats everywhere else.

New windshield then had it detailed, paint chips filled in, and ceramic coated. 
Not bad for a 10+ year paint job. And it's amazing how much a new windshield changes the look of the car.

When i started on my trim, and like a maroon, I thought I'd replace any damaged pieces, and even bought some aftermarket pieces. Then I saw Kelly_H's post on how she repaired hers. I figured if a young GIRL could do it, so could I. Mine were pretty well mangled, but with a little finesse I couldn't tell where the old damage was without looking at the back side.

I just painted the 69 Dash satin black, and once thoroughly dry will put all the switches, and AC vents back in and finally install it in the car.  Then I can mount the steering column.

Looks good. If you’re keeping the original wiring harness, you might want to put in some of the wiring on the dash before you put the dash in.

Also, the plastic air-conditioning elbows that go to the round registers, I put those in first as well.

Thanks Vicfreg.  Yep, keeping the original wiring, but went through every wire, fixed anything bad, and ran a bunch of new ones for the stereo, backup camera, amp, and new instrument panel gauges from NVU.  From what I saw when I took the dash out all the wires are in the harness that sits in the channel above the dash.  Which ones are you referring too?

I'm also putting in a new Old Air Products AC/Heat system so the old AC elbows are not used, but the new AC vents will be put in before dash install.  What is nice about the new AC systems is that it is so much smaller that I can now use the large glove box of a non-AC car.  Once the dash is in I can put in the new IDIDIT tilt column, and finally finish up in the engine compartment.

Loaded up a custom tune for the Sniper unit, then went for a drive with the local Mustang Club. 
Did not realize the route was going to take all day, ended up putting 225 miles on the car!

Ed. Good video.  I did my quarter window trim about a month ago and it came out great. 
I also polish with the wheel spinning away from me.    Avoids getting impaled by the trim if it catches the buffer wheel…..

See what Vic wrote.  I did not want to get impaled and it actually makes it easier to me to let the wheel pull the piece and me pull back against it instead of a push/push the other way.

I thought the quarter window trim was chrome.  I'll have to pull it out and do it too.  I know the boomerang is chrome and won't be polishing that on the buffer.  I may use a little compound on a rag and polish by hand.

Thanks.  I knocked out the rest of the trim yesterday.  I went back over it several times and got most of the fine swirls out where a DA buffer overlapped the trim in the past.  I'm really impressed with how shiny it is now.

You have to watch the buffers. Most pros' put painters tape on the trim to stop it being hit. But nowdays the pads are soft foam so unless they are cutting enamel or acrylic back they shouldn't be using a harsh compound.

Good luck with the channel, I subscribed. The comparison to the dull and shiny trim was a bit short so maybe hold it longer in view? I use a cheap video editing program to chop up my very basic videos so that's something you could look into?

Nothing. Just looked at it as I walked past it in the garage/shop. My hips are acting up & it is very difficult to get down on the ground, lay on the ground, & get back up. Planning on purchasing a 4-post lift sometime during the summer or after the summer to make finishing the Mustang much easier. I would like to drive it soon after all this work on it. Never thought it would take this long to complete. Getting old sucks.

Replaced my CoverCraft Car Cover as it wasn't water proof (as advertised). I went with Seal Skin, arrived just in time before the storm arrived in CA, Im happy to say this this is water proof. Plus side it came with storm straps that clips into the cover and is adjustable to tighten the cover down. 

Lets see how long this lasts lol

Hopefully it is just something bumped the bulb in the trunk.  First time I ever got pulled over in my car I was 16 and dropping my dad at the airport.  I got pulled over for tail light being out.  I opened the trunk and it was because my dad's suitcase had bumped the bulb in the trunk and I just needed to reseat it.

I am torn about getting an indoor dust only cover for my car.  Maybe I should just get a good cotton sheet.  My car will be in the garage but it gets dusty in there.
