Welcome to the site, and congrats on the Mustang. I guess it's too late to advise you to buy the best condition car you can :) Forget about the money and time thing, because it'll cost you plenty of both. FE's will cost more than a small block, but less than a CJ or Boss, but you probably know that. Mine's been down since circa 1998 because of 2 divorces, a marriage, 5 moves (not in that order). Did end up back at my original house which has my self built 900 sf shop. If you're scared, look thru some build threads. Many guys have tackled some pretty in-depth rust jobs and succeeded. They sure have bigger balls than me. Bob

My guess would be a knock off. Might look into Pro Comp pics, a lot of guys used them as a cheap alum head " upgrade".
-
Ok, when you said reinstall, I believed they were going back into the original housing. First post didn't mention a new housing. If the NPD online description doesn't state the size of threads, I'd call them to confirm. Bob
-
Mike, they are TCP's own brand, Vari Shock I believe. Bob

Is that piece in the pic stock? I don't remember mine looking like that. If that piece won't fit in the original threads and it's after market, are you asking us to guess what size the threads are from a picture that is not to scale. Maybe I didn't comprehend the question. Sorry but I don't know the answer. Bob

So what do you use to polish the soft plastic? I use polishing compound on headlights and such which are harder lexan, it's the tail lamps and other soft plastic that I'm at a loss for. Bob -
How difficult is the replacement of the fastback rear window?

Depends on where you live, small 1 shop town or bigger city. Does the whole town use this 1 guy? Check around, the best shop and guy should be found out rather quickly. Most shops use specialty tools for molding removal. No paint damage should occur. I do pert near all of the work needed on my car, from welding machine work, metal fab yada yada, but had the window moldings removed by a very good tech I know. We all have our limitations. Good luck. Bob -

My original seats and platform both measure 14x11. And since the studs go thru the holes, I can't see how they would ever be different measurements. Bob -
1970 Mach lower rocker moldings are aluminum
RPM replied to 55Mach1's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
Yes those do look very nice. I can't believe anyone who has removed them would think they were anything but aluminum. Bob -
Thank you for this good to know info. I'm just north of him and will be contacting Marco. Bob

Picked up a couple of front seats. Bought them off of a craigslist ad. Came out of an 06 AMG CLS63 with 4,000 miles. Stole the pair for $700 delivered. I just happened to know the guy, he did the marble/ granite/ onyx work on my last house. The seats have power everything, including headrest. Also has air adjustable lumbar & lower seat. Major task will be to get the seats to sit low enough, and power to the seats. When I sent pics and info on the seats to my brother, he sent back an eBay link to a for sale, no auction, for 1 of these seats at $1,000. Wish I was able to post pics. Bob -
Unfortunately that's the standard response for the front edge molding. Even worse, I need to get one.I was going to drive down to NPD in Ventura to get one along with other stuff, but i kinda wonder if they have even one good one in any of their locations. Bob
-
Yep, those are the specs which provide good results for many folks. Bob
-
Did you not ask for a passenger fender? I'll check into shipping options for it. I've never shipped one. PayPal works for me. Bob
-
Hey wycked69, I've got a good used rust free Cali fender you can have for $100 plus shipping. I'm in California 93311.

Im guessing he thinks we need a dermatologist.

Aw.. the spec sheet didn't show when I looked the first time. -
Bolt pattern is the same. Offset I believe is 6 1/2 or so, which is way too deep. The 94-04 have 5 3/4 which works much better, but still needs spacers. Bob

So... are you guys having problems with oil getting past the valve cover cap, into the tube and into the intake? I nor anyone I know has had this problem. Every valve cover I've used had a baffle in it to prevent oil from splashing into the pcv valve. Bob

Seats look cool. How do you dent a seat? Bob
