  1. Really barnett468 same as curb finders/feelers?? FYI i've got 2 boys, one is 20 that has a 69 cougar that loves chrome and my 16 year old just bought a '68 XR7 because he loves the lines of the car but he especially loves the chrome on it so that age thing has nothing to do with it. I've taught them to do what YOU like not what everyone likes.
  2. I like the trim myself and I think it looks good on your coupe. my fastback didn't have it but it did have the rocker trim as well so I added them and I think it looks great, too each his own.
  3. sportsroof69, can you please post the actual data showing the power loss using flowmasters? i've looked and i can't find anything besides a company comparing themselves to flowmaster and even then the power was either the same or within a horsepower one way or another. Not doubting you but i'd be very interested in seeing that and i'm sure others would be as well. Still like the sound of the flowmasters over anything else thou, JMO
  4. 7 inch looks the best with the 235/60 with at least a 3 1/2 BS. i've got that on the front of my 69
  5. don't think you will have room for that long of a muffler. just my 2 cents but Flowmaster 40's sound a lot better on the muscle cars, to me the magnaflows are just way too quiet.
  6. I'm guessing he's got studs welded in place of the bolts then the holes are welded over and then ground down
  7. Mvh0477, those 2 reds look like House of Kolor paints or some kind of candy apple red. i'd check out there website and others like Sikkens, BASF, DUPONT etc. and look at there color charts.
  8. Paint it whatever colour you want, i wouldn't hesitate even if it was a rare cobra jet. you can always repaint it back to original. I didn't buy my 69 to resell it for a profit, it's to keep. My fastback was orignally gold/gold nugget interior and there was no way that i would own a car in that colour so i painted it 1990 twilight blue with a black interior. i will be repainting it the newer ford Kona blue that was on the newer mustangs. i especially liked that colour on the super snake with the black trim
  9. just go on you-tube and search Rivnut installation. there's a few vidoes showing you how to do it. just did my drivers mirror last week.
  10. sorry to hijack the original post but i have to disagree with Wycked69. I found that the Lucas octane boost does work. we have to use it in my sons cougar which has a 351 Windsor we add it to a good premium gas, which here is the Shell v-power ( 91 octane with no ethanol in it here in Canada) to keep it from spark knocking. if we don't use the boost it runs on after turning it off and it seems to run hotter along with the spark knock. the car has been professional tuned so i know that 's not causing the spark knock, it went away after we started using it. to each his own, i feel it does work, some don't but the Lucas does make a difference. Lots of good info here to help you out. good luck with your 351C. i've got one in my stang and i'm running a 160* thermo ,stock pump and a four row rad/shroud with a flex fan with no issues. i did add a pusher to the front just in case but hardly ever turn it on
  11. Just spray clear coat on it before installing
  12. i would contact edelbrock to find out what is going on, sounds like it's not calibrated correctly.
  13. sorry to hijack this thread but can someone please give more detail to running 18"x11"rims in the back with 295's in a stock wheel housing. Is that on a stock suspension and if so what offset and tire profiles? same goes for the front, 255's where mentioned but what size rims, tires and offset. thanks
  14. my suggestion is to take it to a reliable body shop and have the car frame looked at to make sure it's straight, then get the alignment done. that's what i did with my 69 and it was off by an 1". They pulled it back and then the alignment. just my 2 cents.
