Going to have a new 2500 stall-converter put in the FMx tranny in my car! YAY! -
I am looking to install a more modern starter on my car. I want to replace the heavy original unit for a lighter one. The one off a 93 Mustang Cobra would fit the bill. However, I'm not sure how to connect the wires with the solenoid on the fender. I really don't want to loose the solenoid. Can I bypass the lighter starters solenoid and connect the power wire directly to the starter ? Thanks!

Cleveland or Windsor water pump

Are you sure the pumps interchange between the two motors? -
Get a big block air cleaner. You could get an fiberglass one from fordramair.com. It should be short enough. Please don't trim and destroy your original piece. Just my opinion. Your car, do what you want. :)

15 inch magnums for my car as well and nothing else -
Sam, no validation from an outside source is important or needed. If your happy with what you did to your car then "that" is all that matter. Who cares what others think!

I installed the Shelby pod and the new volt and vacuum gauges and they work great. Now I want to get some blue light bulbs to match the interior lights. I will post pics when I get a chance :) -

I bought 2" volt and vacuum gauges for my Shelby console pod and set them up. I will install and wire them up on Sunday. :) I will also post a pic. -
You will not get extra volts, you will need more amps! A 3G does not produce anymore volts than any other alternator! OK, to check the alt with a voltmeter: Measure voltage at the battery posts with everything off including engine. Battery should measure 12.6 - 13 v dc. Crank motor, then measure alt output at battery posts. Should read no more than 14.6 vdc. Then with engine running turn everything on Ie. radio and all it's components, fan blower motor, headlights on with high beams, electric cooling fans, and everything else on. Rev motor to about 2500 rpm. This will load down the alt, but the voltage should not drop below 14 v dc. Good luck
