  1. Ash, IIRC the dash top has to come off first then you could remove the l/s & r/s dash panels, then the metal lower dash. That is how I did it in my 69 Coupe. Mike.
  2. IIRC you will also need the pass side dash panel & the cougar dash top.
  3. No worries, Thanks for getting me the measurements I want to do just the hood stripe on my 69 Coupe. Mike.
  4. I have a newer 302 that is a roller cam motor that I want to build into a stroker & I have a 5 spd trans from a late 80's Mustang, & a 9" rear. I want to build it as a street cruiser to take to shows & cruise events here at the beach in the summer time. Mike.
  5. IMHO I would say build the 390 BB 4 spd car.
  6. Here is a bolt in IFS for 65-73 Mustangs. www.jimmeyerracing.com . There ad in mustang Times claims it bolts to stock factory holes. Mike.
  7. Congrats on the 69 Coupe. Yours looked like mine did 10 years ago when I got mine. My Coupe was being used as a parts car when I rescued it.
  8. I needed to use a needle nose pliers to loosen mine before I could remove them. BTW where are you in Toms River, NJ?
  9. The trunk lids for a Vert & a Coupe should be the same.
  10. In 1969 I would be turning 12 & I remember every one of those songs. Very cool Pak, thanks for sharing. I clicked on the somgs & I am listening to them as I browse the site here with period correct music.
  11. Try calling a Ford dealer or check in a junk yard all the Ford's from the 70's & early 80's IIRC had the same screw in mast but with a different base for the specific car. Is it the one with the 4 screws that hold the base to the fender & the mast has a hex nut-like at the base of the mast where you could put an open ended wrench on it to remove the mast?.
  12. IIRC one of the bell housing bolts secure the dipstick tube.
  13. Welcome, I am also building a Coupe & I started with a shell that was used as a parts car.
  14. I do not think there is any noticable difference.
  15. What gauge metal are you using for these supports & braces?.
  16. Jim, Does your car have A/C? If it does not you do not have to remove the complete heater box to do a heater core. An old Ford mechanic taught me how to do this when I had my first Mustang back in the late 70's when it was my DD, Just pop ALL the front cover clips off using a straight blade screwdriver & remove the cover to access the heater core. There is also a clip or two facing the kick panel. Hope that helps. Mike.
  17. IIRC someone on e bay sells a piece to repair them.
  18. Menace, Back on 1/26/12 I had asked you about which door skins you were going to use & how they fit, & you stated you purchased Dii skins but didnt weld them i yet & would post how they fit after you did them, but I have not seen a post about them yet. Have you welded them in yet?, & if you did how did they fit? I am getting ready to order mine & I am interested how they fit & line up to the reat of the sheet metal. TIA, Mike.
  19. +1, I agree go for OE ones. I even repaired the tab painted in gray primer which was corroded away with JB weld steel stick & I think it came out pretty good.
  20. When you made the template for the kick panel vent openings did you happen to save it? Your work looks awesome, keep up the good work & keep the pics comming.
  21. Cool club, but ave - A in Newark is NOT a good area as areas go in Newark. Did you have one of these :tank: for protection? LOL.
