just talked to a mechanic. he said fords were bad about whinning power steering pumps. he told me to put two table spoons of motor oil in with the power steering fluid and most times the whining will go away. i think i will try that first before replacing the pump.

The power steering on my 69 coupe whines when I turn the steering wheel. I also notice a wobble on the power steering pully. The power steering works fine but it bothers me that it whines when turning the steering wheel. The resevoir is full on the dipstick. Is this a case of the power steering pump about to go out or what? Its done this since i bought the car about 3 years ago. Should I try replacing the pump?

Just took my 69 coupe on a 3 hr. trip one way. All stock 302 automatic 2 bbl. Going down i went 60 to 65 mph and got 15.8 MPG. Comming home I drove 65 to 70 and got 14.3MPG Whats other people getting?

cj pony dont have the GT gas cap in their catalogue just the pop open type and the regular screw on cap. i want the GT style

I hear that they are making reproductions of the 69 GT gas caps. Does anyone know where to get one and the cost?

If the sun doesn't get the seat covers easier to work on use a hair dryer to heat them up as you pull them into place. Working with two people helps alot on stretching and pulling the covers tight. Any of the seat wires that go on the seat covers can be made with old coat hangers.

I had a time with my guages too. Then I put the electrical tape on and thats what it was. The guage was touching the metal. Its very hard sometimes to get the guages set just right so they wont touch and ground out. I still have my amp guage and oil pressure guage to get working but scared to try again now that my gas guage and temp guage works.

Ok I found the antenna mast like what was on my car. The mast got broken and the base of the mast has a screw that you loosten and the rest of the broken antenna slides off. The car has the origonal antenna base held with 4 screws. The mast part sticks up about an inch and a half. The new mast slips over this part still on the car and a small screw tightenes up and holds the replacement antenna on. Looks perfect just like it was before it got broke. The antenna mast is from Dorman item number 720-044 in case anone needs one. Found it on Ebay.

While picking up some used 67 Mustang doors today I noticed the guys neighbors all had old cars sitting in their back yards. He said yea my cousin has that 69 Mustang sports roof car over there. It was just sitting in the weather uncovered and all a brown rust color. He said it was a 302 car automatic. He said the guy was thinking of selling but I can't afford another car so I guess it will probally just sit there and rust even more. Sad to see it going to pot.

Do you have the origonal radio antenna for a 69 Mustang? I just need the mast part of the antenna. There is a small screw at the base of the mast that if you loosen the mast will slide off. If you have this email me at relic1864@aol.com. and the price. Thanks Keith

My radio antenna got broke on my 69 coupe. It is the origonal antenna. The mast has a little screw that lets the mast slide off the base. I just need this replacement mast only but can not find one. I have looked at replacement antennas and none are made like my origonal. Does anyone out there have the origonal radio antenna that maybe is not on the car or just a parts car that might just sell me the mast part of the antenna?
