  6. Got a quick question, I replaced the drivers door skin but now that I have painted it , I knew I had to drill new holes to mount it, But! I dont have a way to thread the mirror cable through the door? The square hole is there on the outside to put it through, but about 1/2" in there is metal plate blocking from going anywhere. My question is for those of you that installed new skins do I need to drill a 3/4" to 1" hole to go through that tab? Of course I have no clue now what the old skin looked like it has been a couple yrs since I replaced. Any help is appreciated. Thanks David

  8. I have 5 leaf 1.5" reverse eye grab a trac rear springs for sale if anyone is interested. They have only been driven 340 miles, and were on my 69 fastback. This is the link for them http://www.mustangsplus.com/xcart/product.php?productid=1018&cat=2124&page=1 also have the kyb gas adjust shocks that go with them, and 2" aluminum, and 3" steel lowering blocks with the u bolts. prefer to sell them all, and prefer locally but if you want to pay shipping this is going to be pretty heavy. nothing wrong with them just finished installing my air ride airbar and no longer need. Ill take $150.00 for it all plus the cost of shipping. If you want to see what the car looked like with them installed look here, these pics are with the 3" blocks, the rear wheels are 18" http://www.1969stang.com/gallery/Davids-69-Resto my cell is 972 207-4790 if you need to talk, not after say 9:30 cst
  9. Heres a pic of mine,, what I did was go to the junkyard and find a car with a good sized modern plug from under the hood.. Be sure to have about 1.5 to 2 foot of wire on each side of the donor plug, or in my case i used 2 plugs.. Take your time and wire all gauges up to your new "plug" ((take the time to route the wires real nice and in order)) and then you wire the other side up to your original harness under dash. when you get ready to install or remove you just simply unplug. The bezel will be painted this is the raw plastic from year one.
  10. David, saw your car there sat, but no one was around, was going to introduce myself... your car looked great, how did you do? that black 68 was kick a_ _ !!.

  16. Thanks David for posting,, I`m cleaning out a few items. Maybe someone can chime in if this was a dealer add-on?? OR am I way to high on the price ??
  17. I`M needing a good drivers side door, I`m in the Dallas, area but willing to travel to a good one. Thanks for your help, u can call me on my cell if you want 972 207-4790 David
  18. James, Congrats on the progress. What you need to be sure and do is take some painters tape blue or green, and tape off all around the area to drill, actually when you measure out make your drill marks on the tape. Measure 4 times to make sure, and then use a very sharp drill bit !!! You dont want it " walking " on your finish. You might take a sharp scribe and "start" the hole indention BUT do not hammer it. Hope this helps good luck.
  19. Arrow, I think your right on with the ad, and the price, BUT I think the problem is the way the economy is at the moment. People including myself are clamping down, and holding on to see what`s going to happen. I think if you keep at it, maybe find some local events you could go to and park it with a for sale sign, you might get lucky. Just give it time and when things turn around someone will grab it. GOOD LUCK
  20. Mikem ,, can you tell us what paint system (brand) they used for your car. Thanks
  21. Thanks so much for the info, these are original and I think their out of whack, the drivers side is a skin replacement and new front fender and it looks good. I have been working this out to be flat but i needed to make sure. Thanks
  22. The shop should warranty that?? Good Luck
  23. Could I get someone to check out there finished door alignment panels. I am wanting someone to take a ruler or straight edge and tell me if the front of your door and the rear of the front fender is basically straight, or does it " dip " in at the gap? If you place a straight edge " horizontal " across your door and fender at the gap, is it flush going from the top body line to the bottom line? Mine seems to curve down about a 1/4" and i am thinking should be flat across. Hope I make sense just trying to get thing lined up for paint. Thanks for your time David
  24. Mikem the gas should not affect the clear, can you look closely and determine if the clear is bubbling or the basecoat paint underneath the clear? If the new paint didnt seal completely the gas could have seeped out, and under the basecoat causing the bubling effect. At least its just the back panel and a reshoot should be easy.
