  1. Hi Barnett, I bought the car out of the US last year and don't have a lot of info on it. Has an FMX transmission and a single muffler each side. Don't know the diff ratio (doesn't seem too tall) or compression. The plate on the door is no help as it has been remade to show the new colour/trim/diff.
  2. Hi Guys, I am running a 351C 4V in my 69 with original iron manifolds. I would like to go extractors but not a simple task with a right hand drive conversion so stuck with iron for now. The current exhaust is a hotch potch of diameters as follows: 2 1/2" from manifold to just prior to muffler then steps down to 2 1/4" entering muffler. 2 1/2" out of muffler and over rear axle then steps down to 2". The twin chrome tips are 1 3/4". I am running a 650 Holley and am not aware of any other mods to the engine. It seems a little under powered for a 351C. Has a traction lock diff and won't spin 245/60 T/As which I thought it would so I am suspecting the exhaust won't be helping. Could I have some advice on the best pipe size for my setup. I think I'm better starting from scratch. Thanks.
  3. I have used RetroBelt 3 point inertia reel belts on the front. I found that they sat too high and would end up on my neck so added 12" drop links. Made all the difference.
  4. Great news. I pannicked and called our IT people as I couldn't get access. Very glad to see you up an running again. I had to do some work instead.
  5. Thanks guys. I will give that a go
  6. I will be removing my windscreen in May while doing a conversion to right hand drive. It's many years since I've removed one. Could I have some tips on the best way to go about it. I was going to cut around the sealant with a piece of flat metal although I have heard that wire may be better.
  7. Thanks guys. Looks like a great solution. Got to say, I love this site. very helpful.
  8. Thanks Caseyrhe. This is exactly what I need.
  9. I've never heard of this. Could someone post a picture. Thanks.
  10. Thanks for that. Sounds like the way to go.
  11. If I change from a 600 to a 750 will itbe a different height as I have a shaker it may be an issue? Thanks,
  12. Thanks for that. According to the Holley site a 600 is OK but it feels a little underdone. I am not sure if the it has a mild cam as it seems to be a litle lumpy when idling. Without stripping it I have know way of knowing what has been done internally. Very disappointing the seller want respond. I think I wil ladd a 750 to the long list of 'to do's' Thanks
  13. Thanks for that. I found the 80457 carbys but couldn't find an 80457-10. But at least I know it's a 600. Regards, Mal.
  14. Hi guys, I bought my 69 Mach 1 out of Tampa a litle over a year ago and it's fitted with a 351C 4V. It has a new Holley carby with electric choke and I am having difficulty identifying it. I have had no luck getting any info from the previous owner. It has the following numbers on the body - 80457-10 and 2194. My best guess is it is a 600. Any idears? Also the car sems a little sluggish but maybe I'm too used to modern cars. Is this a big enough carby for the 351C? Thanks, Mal.
  15. Thanks for that. I have orignal iron manifolds. I am converting to right hand drive in May so may end up with headers for clearence.
  16. I have a matt black bonnet and the prvious owner has left a white circular mark on the bonnet. Looks like from the bottom of a bottle of polish. I have not had any luck cleaning it. Any suggestions? Apart from the obvious........to repaint it.
  17. I have a 69 Mach 1 built June 69. It is fitted with a 351 Cleveland. I assumed it had been changed from a Windsor at some point. Where any sold with Clevelands? The Marti report does not identify it other than H code 351 2V.
  18. I will be in St Louis and Orlando in March. Hope to see plenty of good old American iron while there. Always come home with a bag full of parts. Although the $ isn't great at the moment.
  19. Managed to get them on my iPad. Thanks Shaun, very helpful Mal.
  20. Hi Shaun, Thanks for this. Unfortunately I am working off a Government computer and it has blokked the links. I will tray to look at it tonight when home. Regards, Mal.
  21. This looks very impressive. I will be giving it a go. Thanks for the info.
  22. Hi, As I'm new to the forum and being a Mustang owner I didn't know there where many other Aussies here. I bought my Mach 1 through Shermat International in Tampa September 2015 and had it in Australia in Feb 2016. I had to delay deleivery due work commitments and travel. Absolutly love the car even though it needs a little more work then expected. But that's part of the fun of ownership. I will be converting it to right hand drive in May which should be a fun project. Once I can work out how to upload some pictures I will. Thanks, Mal
