  1. I took my 69 down out of the rafters ..its been up on the lift for about 6 months now ,poor thing . i fit the driver side sail panel in place .It fit very well but i do believe the panels will need a strip of foam on the back side to hold them out like the card board panels had .There is nothing to hold them tight to the hockey stick ,they just float there and they will push away at the very back .They stay tight to the seat panel and the latch cover panel . I am thinking that the bracket that they rest on and attaches the hockey stick could have a clip screwed to it to act as a stop and i will try that first .I haven't fit the other side yet but it looks like they will fit very well .
  2. I have seen a lot of pinch welds folded over from using jacks under them .It may be alright if your lift has rubber pads .If you do have a pinch weld bent you can take a cresent wrench to it and work it a little at a time and straighten it out
  3. I have two extra driver side door glass .They seem to be in good condition ,you would have to look at them to see if they were up to standards .
  4. I think the extras i have are tinted ,i will check tomorrow .
  5. I aint never screwed up ,and that's my story and i am sticking to it ...and runs away laughing HAHAHA!
  6. The problem is the rocker is thin and it can push up when you lift from the pinch weld .there is nothing more than the inner rocker face plate attached to the outer rocker .The flat area is even worse because it is only the one layer thick ,and that is about 18 gauge .
  7. Yep ,i have both .I do not have the slider bracket though that bolts on the glue on brackets.
  8. I will have to look but i should have them .
  9. Well looks like i got that date wrong ...it is actually April 10 .I am still planning on going and taking the 66 and what ever i can dig up .I am going to try to get a couple spaces out on the pavement .
  10. I finally got black gel coat, wow the price difference is ridiculous from white and black ,i see why every one here is using white . Made a set of sail panels in black ,i will use this set in my 69 . While i was at it i made the molds for the 65-66 R model fast back quarter vent block offs .These panels are used in road racers if you do not want to run the factory quarter vents .This set will go in my 66 fast back .
  11. The piece below the trap door ? I have made it out of plywood .The chrome trim screws on the edge just like the metal panel would and when it is carpeted you can't tell the difference .The trap door is also a bolt in ,you just need the clips for the hinges . No doubt having the whole original set up is well worth it if you can get one reasonable ,but you can use what you have to build the fold down if you can't find the complete unit .
  12. Carpet covers the back .No extra pieces but i have seen the piece for sale .the top fold over piece is metal but i see no reason it could not be made from fiberglass .
  13. The seats are actually all the same, fold down or stationary .The stationary seat mounts to the floor using the same hinges the fold down uses .The only diff.is the extra L piece that is hinged to the top of the seat back for the fold down seat .It will bolt right on your stationary seat .you just need the chrome trim to finish it off .
  14. All you guys need to make a fold down seat out of your stationary seat is the top part of the back seat that flips over and the hinge and the floor platform behind the seat .Everything else is available .All the mounting holes are there for the fold down .I have made the floor platform out of plywood ,once you carpet it and put the chrome trim on you cant tell the difference .
  15. I an still planning on making the Shelby De Mexico type trunk lid and end caps ,soon as i can get my hands on a coupe .i keep seeing a back half of a 69 coupe on Craigs list that i would buy just for fitting purposes if the guy didn't think it was gold plated .
  16. I thought you were using the factory end caps ,fiber glass to fiber glass is not a problem California HAHA ! Clear across the country just about .
  17. I think it will have to be a completely custom made job but once the first pieces are made it will be simple to make molds .
  18. I was looking at my fast back thunk lid and end caps and i believe they may lean to far forward at the top to make an easy transfer to a coupe .I think the coupe end caps are much shorter at the top so the dish/spoiler at the top of the fast back lid and caps would wind up into the quarter ,i would need to look at a coupe to compare . Also a 70 has different end caps from a 69 ,they are shaped completely different ,the trunk lid is the same so there would have to be a completely different set of end caps made for a 70.
  19. Why i wouldn't have a clue who they would belong to HAHA! Yeah ,they are both great guys ,i always enjoyed the trip over there and them showing me the process. I believe they were just starting another grey type coating the last time i was there ,it was a while ago .I still have a couple of buckets of the gold plated bolts and brackets .I liked the gold with the darker paints like black and darker greens on my cars .
  20. How did i miss this ? It makes my eyes hurt ..Ok, witch of you guys bid on it HAHAHA!
  21. Yeah ,planning on going ,if not to sell ,just to walk through but i will be scrounging through my parts to see what i have that i could bare to part with .
  22. Shouldn't sit lower they will be under the leaf .May ad some over all weight /traction to the car. HAHA!
  23. You must be taking them to Fresno? I do the same thing ,five gallon buckets of bolts and all the brackets i can dig up . The last time i took some in though they lost a whole bucket of my 65-68 pieces and bolts .
  24. That is about the way i would do it ,the problem is sooner or later the fiberglass will let go from the pot metal end caps .hot and cold weather will shrink and expand the two different materials and that usually causes cracks or bonding failures .Some times it will hold up for a few years though .
