  1. Hey a 69 convertible guy who loves the 79 pace car, if you like the SVO as well, then maybe we were separated at birth. I have a 69 vert that I am building, and always have my eyes open for a 79 pace car ever since my cousin owned one. Having an SVO would really complete my coral. Bill from Ottawa
  2. I feel for you. I have not gone through that part of my rebuild yet. The question you have to ask yourself is, how soon do you want this car on the road. Can you wait for the right parts, or do you make the incorrect one's fit. It also depends upon how authentic you want your car to be. It may seem like the easy thing to do now, but later on, once you are near completion, you may regret taking the short cut. Personally I would go with using 69 parts, they are out there, it just takes some time to find them. 69 convertibles are rare, and your quest is to find the all of the parts for your car, that is the fun part of the journey. Best of luck, Bill from freekin cold Ottawa...
  3. It looks like a sweet ride, please post more photos.. Congratulations. Bill from Ottawa

  8. MAn you are fkying on your car, really appreciate the pix. Bill from Ottawa
  9. Hmmmmm....golfing or restoring a classic car.....I choose the car, but we all need a break sometime. Look forward to the pixs that are coming. Bill from Ottawa, where gas is .81$ today....
  10. Nice looking project, feel free to post more photos. Bill from Ottawa
  11. You are progressing quickly with your convertible. I bought mine last Winter in Calgary and had it shipped. The car is originally from Maple Ridge BC. Small world it is, as I have family in Victoria and go and visit regularily. Th elast time I was there, I say a guy driving a 68 California Special that appears to be his everyday driver....I was almost in tears. Thanks for the photos, keep them coming. You can see mine at "to build or not to build" thread. Bill from Ottawa, and yes there is snow on the ground....
  12. Keep the pixs of your progress coming. Thanks Bill from Ottawa, Canada
  13. Nice progress, I am envious.. Bill
  14. That is a starter car for a good restoration. The green color is gross. Things don't always seem as they appear, so I bet that there are a few other surprizes. Bill
  15. Looks like a good project, post more photos when you get the chance. Bill
  16. I think that the ad is good, it shows that you really cared about the car, and are proud of it, and that is reflected in the price. Be patient, and the right buyer will come around. Bill from Ottawa
  17. I spoke to a mechanic the other day who said that the Windsor is better than the Cleveland. I really wasn't sure, I beieve that the Windsor is bigger and can produce more power, but is there any up's or down's to either? Bill from Ottawa
  18. How do you pay for the work being done. The guy I was speaking with says that he will work on it here and there and let me know when I owe him money. he thought that to replace the floors and get the whole car completed welded and straight would be around 10K. It sounds a little steep to me, and I can now see why guys do there own work. Bill from Ottawa
  19. If you can, keep posting pixs of your progress...it looks good so far. Bill from Ottawa
  20. Your ride is really nice, I would love to see more pixs if you got em...I am thinking if painting my convertible black, even the engine and accessories, make everything black. Don;t know what it would look like. Bill from Ottawa
  21. I think that you are right, the passenger side mirror is manually adjusted with the assistance of a passenger, etc... Bill
  22. The restoration guy I was speaking with suggested that I replace the floor with one single piece as it is much easier, and would add a great deal more stability, rather than two separate pieces. I am going to have my doors reskinned first, so that they are perfect when the car is being aligned for the floors. Bill
  23. Can you come and build mine..... Bill
