  1. I cut the hood on my car a long time ago. A 10" diameter air filter will fit inside the scoop, but there isn't a whole lot of extra room. Tim
  2. Your best bet would be to go to a shop that makes a/c hoses and let them know what you want to do. They will have fittings available that will do what you need to do. I just ran hard lines for the a/c on my Bug, and we silver soldered fittings on the hard lines for the hose connections. Buy stainless tubing for you hard lines so they don't rust. Tim
  3. If you put the piston at top dead center and apply air to the cylinder, the air pressure will cause the engine to turn over. You will need to come up with a way to keep the crankshaft from turning if you are going to use air pressure at top dead center. Tim
  4. It has been a while, but if I remember correctly the number is the mix code and the letter at the end indicates the paint line. L is for Lucite lacquer. U is for Imron urethane. D is for Dulux straight enamel. There are others, but that is all I can remember now. They are all the same color, just different paints. Tim
  5. I considered doing the same thing to my car. If I was going to do it, I would modify my stock shock towers like they did the original b-9's. Just my opinion. Tim
  6. I dropped mine off at the local glass shop. They replaced the glass, charged me about $10, done deal. That is the easiest way I know. Tim
  7. The 429 is not that hard to put into a 67 or later Mustang. If it is a complete and true CJ, there are some high dollar parts on it. Dist- $600-800. Exhaust manifolds- $250 Heat shield on manifold- $200 Heads- $1000+ A lot of the parts people will pay a high price for if it has the date code they are looking for. To sum up what I am saying, you may be able to part out the 429 for enough to buy a real nice 428, if that is what you are wanting to do. Tim
  8. Any flat tappet cam will need zinc in the oil. Whether you use an additive or you use oil with zinc in it, just make sure it has zinc. Tim
  9. There are 2 adjustment points. One between the hinge and the pillar, the other between the hinge and the door. It sounds like you need to loosen the bolts that hold the hinge to the door and adjust it in or out as needed. Were any body panels replaced? Tim
  10. Are you going to run the boss style hemi heads on it, or are you going to use regular 429/460 heads on it? Tim
  11. My set has the over axle pipes seperate from the tailpipes. There are definitely 2 pair of tailpipes. My instruction sheet is different from yours, and it does show the 2 different tailpipes. Tim
  12. I noticed mine came with 2 pair of tailpipes. One pair turns down in front of the valance and one set looks like it will exit through the valance. Did yours have both sets? I didn't get to install mine yet. Maybe tomorrow. Tim
  13. I don't like what you are telling me. My kit came in Friday, hoping to start putting it on today. I will let you know how it goes. Tim
  14. I have been looking at the 15819 Magnaflow 3" kit. Summit has it for $767.84 with free shipping. It is 3" stainless all the way from the crossmember back. I am just about to pull the trigger on it. Does anybody have any input on these? Tim
  15. I added enough weld to the ends of my valance to close the gaps, and then ground it smooth. I didn't weld the valance to the quarters. It turned out very nice. The new valances just take some work to make them fit. Tim
