  1. Thats heartbreaking mate. Here's hoping the insurance lets you keep it and fix it
  2. Hi All, I'm looking at these mirrors from CJ's http://www.cjponyparts.com/scott-drake-exterior-mirror-standard-convex-chrome-passenger-side-1967-1968/p/ME2SR/ Can they be used on both driver and passenger sides? IE base mounts are the same left to right? My coupe is left hand drive and I'll be driving in a right hand drive country (Australia) so was looking at using the convex mirrors on both sides of the car for as much rear vision as possible Thanks Shaun
  3. The overall height is 3/8" taller. The spindle and steering arm are in the same place as a 70. The height difference alters the camber curve similar to half a shelby drop. An even heavier casting was made for 79-88 Falcons. The geometry was the same as are the ball joints but the tie rod has a larger hole.
  4. Are the 70 disc spindles hard to find? The reason I ask is here in Aus we have the Falcon spindles easy to find- almost a throw away item. Use the same balljoints, tie rod ends and bearings as the 70 spindle. They are 3/8" taller than a Mustang spindle and are the most commonly used spindle here if you want disc brakes. A stock KH caliper and disc bolts on. I'm wondering whether it would be worth shipping spindles to the states if there was enough interest from guys over there and shipping wasn't too high. Alloy calipers were a stock fitment on some models and are dime a dozen too
  5. My hood is aftermarket, not sure what brand though. Seems to be a good fit. Nice to see another Aussie- welcome mate!
  6. We have the same issues registering them anywhere in Australia. A company was attempting to sell eleanor replica fastbacks here and basically got nowhere as they were nearly impossible to register.
  7. With exchange rate and taxes here in Aus it would be nearly $200k......
  8. I can't remember where I saw it but have seen where the upper holes were moved rearward as well to help with getting enough caster adjustment. Modern tires have different caster requirements to the crossply tires these cars were designed for.
  9. This was my car in my bootlegging days. I was supplying half the army base I work at with booze.
  10. Well, I'll have 2 toddlers in the back of the coupe so a pooper chute may be a good idea!
  11. I'm in the middle of doing the undercarraige at the moment. I'm using KBS rust seal which is similar to por15 then using stonegard rubberised coating. My car had body deadener from the shock mounts back to the rear stonetray from the factory. My car will be a daily and the roads here are not the best.
  12. The paint is urethane and I've got an old car to use for a test piece. Its worth a shot!
  13. Hi All, I can get get PPG Aerospace matte black 2K paint with activator and reducer from my workplace for free once it is out of shelf life (6 months). Could this be used as base coat under a gloss clear coat or possibly a satin clear coat? I've painted cars before but that was mainly with acrylic lacquer paints. I did a couple of 2K clear over base spray jobs about 20 years ago and remember the base coat being flat off the gun. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. I actually don't mind matte finishes but am thinking if I go to all the effort to get the car straight it might as well be shiny. Cheers Shaun
  14. Hi All, I'm tossing around the idea of painting my coupe black with silver striping and tail light panel. Same basic scheme as what's on it now, just silver where it's black and black where it's blue. Thanks Shaun
  15. All the modern Mustangs run a different offset to the classics. You could run a spacer and longer wheelstuds to use the Cobra wheels. From memory classics are +6 and modern are +30 offset so a 1" spacer should work. These are mine 18x8 all round with correct offset for a classic
  16. A guy was killed here recently when his mustang fell off jackstands. Sometimes we need a tragic reminder for safety first.
  17. Very strange spot for that hole. I wasn't sure whether it was stock or why it was there in the first place.
  18. The large hole next to the seat belt mount. Any iteas why it's there? I was thinking of patching it.
  19. More fun on my back. At least the cars high enough now to use a creeper now Can anyone tell me what the large hole is for on the left ? It was blanked off with a square piece of steel. I haven't seen another car with one- I was thinking of welding a patch in.
  20. CJ's have a you live in Australia tax too!! My only real beef is from my last order. I'm pretty careful to only buy parts in stock for the same reasons as above, so I add 2 spring hanger kits to the cart as they are "in stock" only to find that they have 1 back ordered when I get the summary email.
  21. I was thinking about that too Pak. Either sportsroof trim or a local car from Aus, maybe 70s Falcon sedan. The rear window is larger but if the corner shape is the same it could be workable.
  22. Yes they do haha. Hoppers mention using a modded VN Commodore cable if using the original foot brake so I might look at that. They want $250 for their cable 8(.

  24. Just a thought Glenn, maybe have a look for under hood photos of Allan Moffat's Mustang? I'm pretty sure he had the scoop set up for cold air induction, running quad Webers or a Holley 4bbl.
