  3. Going black on the car and ghost red flake flames ... will try to paint friday morning.. Was way to much flake on the car.. thats why the stripe was there but it would not look right following the body lines... thats why Im loosing the stripe...

  7. as for hot rod black check the manufacture for catalyst and reducer with the product...some are ready to shoot out of the can...you will probably only need 1/2 gal total for hot rod black to shoot those surfaces.. the black covers well...2 to three coats all u need...but it dont hurt to have a little left over for touchups ... all im saying dont wind up with 2 gals when you only need one...as for clearcoat I like naison but have sprayed ppg and others with good results....It is all up to what you are use to spraying and a good gun...
  8. 1gal of clear is enough for 4 coats with a little left over usally 3 coats is good enough to cover a car.. so 1.5 quarts left over is enough for jams trunk and under hood .. just buy 1 gal and quart also... Also remember if the bace is mixed with reducer..it adds to the total amount of paint if you buy a gallon you end up with 2 gals.... as for hod rod black 1 should be good but 2 wont hurt... I painted my convertable and bought a gallon...had a little over 1/2 gal left over..of base..anyone need some colorado red??? painted car in steps so i wasted alot of clear...........
  9. my brothers 69 which is now mine had these moons on them in 1979 when we bought the car... he quickly changed them out for 5 slots...
  10. What carb size and jets? Got a 427w in mine with a qft 1050 I think its lean ran 11.12 @ 118 mph....low mph for the time....should be in the 120s

  13. That trim in the bottom of the car looks like 70 trim.. I have seen 69s with the thin trim but not with the wide trim .. Still might be factory..

  16. Msd boxes will fire off any electronic pick up or points check there web page for wireing instructions...i have a 6al2 with a stock dizzy and a tack adapt...works fine.. No stock coil...aftermarket also Sorry i read the post wrong...I guess no aftermarket box for that dizzy... give MSD a call
  17. Got them in my 393 ....except for the price...they work great... many trips down the track and no blow by.. (total seal)
  18. Pressure behind the t,stat? Really? If it blows.somthing is wrong...i hope you just had a bad stat...without one you can flow water so fast it will not cool ....seen it happen down the freeway...
  19. diesel 95 1 ton the t stat cycles and keeps it cool.... you are right about 137degs but the thermostat is keeping 195 deg in the motor...just think of it as a control valve for temp it will keep temp at the desired temp which is 195 it only allows so much coolant out ... so the radiator will always show a lower temperature ...so back to your motor ... if you want to burn it up keep going forward... if you want to enjoy your ride pm me and and we will try to find out what is going on so you can burn some rubber with no problems..:blink:
  20. /checked my truck after work 120 to 137 in ( t-stat working) 110 to 111 at the water pump...are you sure you have good flow ?
  21. Will check mine tonight after work...but it looks like the radiator with those numbers.. you should have a bigger temp drop across the radiator..
