Upgrade factory disc brakes on a 69 Mustang?

Thanks for that chart. Lines 34 through 39 have all the different combinations of 17x8 wheels and tires I would be interested in. -

Upgrade factory disc brakes on a 69 Mustang?

Thanks. It has the stock 14" wheels with hubcaps on it now. The largest I would go is the size you have or maybe 17" on all four. Initially I might try to pick up a set of factory late model wheels with tires that are so abundant on craigslist if I can figure out the offsets. Then save up for a nicer set in the long run. I'll do some searches on figuring out offsets unless you guys have some tips. -

The car I'm buying back (my old car) has power factory front disc brakes and rear drums. What are the best plans for upgrading the brake system? Are any of the existing components reused? I have seen a lot about doing a Granada conversion but that sounded like it was for cars that did not already have disc brakes. If put aftermarket kit on the rear would that leave me out of balance with stock discs in the front? I also want to put new rear leaf springs and possibly a coil over suspension and R&P steering in the front. Any issues related to the disc brake setup? My plans are to make it an enjoyable driver that I could take on a road course for fun, not racing. With those plans should I just leave the factory setup? Thanks.

Has Anyone Corner Weighed a Sports Roof?
TexasEd replied to Aerocoupe's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
Catch 22? Why do they need to know this? Are they trying to size the brake system to the car and calibrate it? Will round numbers work for sizing? Can it be re-calibrated after you get the car put back together? -

Can you do this conversion without going through the fiberglass panel?

Thanks, guys. It won't actually be a cash transaction, I have an investment he wants to buy/ I want to sell so it will be a swap with cash to make up the difference in the additional fair market value of the investment. The negotiation was him saying what he wanted and me reminding him of the investment he wanted and both agreeing that is how we'll do it. He said it is a relief to be selling it because he doesn't have the time or money to restore it and it sits under a car cover in his driveway. I have a garage bay I'm cleaning out for it now. Its hard to contain my excitement at getting the exact car I drove in high school back over 20 years later. I might have to post one of those old high school pictures when I get them scanned. I'm in the Austin area and will be excited to meet other classic Mustang enthusiasts in the area as this progresses.
